Hey fellas, My 88 LSC makes a sqeaking noise when i turn or hit bumps at low speed. I don't notice it at higher speeds but it could be drowned out by my exhaust. i'm too lazy to look but it comes i think from the left side. I think it is either the strut or steering rack. Anybody have this prob ? :shifty:

Yeah, sounds like a sway bar bushing or could be control arm too...
You're gonna have to get your arse up under there and look .. ;)

Yah it doesn't sound like the control arm bushing. it was sqeaking when the suspension isn't moving and just turning so it boils down to the steering rack or strut or strut mount maybe a ball joint i dunno. I'm just going to have to get my lazy arse under that car in the snow at 20 degrees to check it out.:shifty:

Ball joints usually make those crazy noises, but the control arm bushing are known for coming apart.

Ball joints usually make a clunk. If its an under the car squeak most likely it will be your Lower Control arm bushings.

Its hard to determine squeaks, clunks, and creaks through black and white text without being there. :p

Instead of us all guessing, crawl under the car or take the wheel off and investigate. Post back results.

The car is a mile away, I have more than enough clothes to keep the cold off, I have a beeeeg jack and the lug key tool and a four way lug wrench I'm just too bloody lazy to do it !! maybe tommorow lol
