Squirters?

So as many of you know a month or so back the Midwest got hit by a big ice storm. Well during that storm i was trying to clean my windshield and didn't notice some ice still on the hood and nothing came out. Thought nothing of it, you know just the ice blocking the holes. Well now they don't work at all. Not even a little dribble on the hood. I looked at them and there doesn't appear to be any dirt. I'm pretty sure theirs no fuse for JUST the squirter's, its a whole wiper assembly. The wipers still work fine. And yes there is fluid. Does anyone know why or what i can do to fix this problem. The washer nozzles are NOT on the wiper arm. To state the blatantly obvious, on 00-02 cars, the nozzles are on the hood. The upgraded 03+ cars have 3 stealthy nozzles mounted in the cowl.

I would check the pump first to make sure its working. If your nozzles got blocked with ice, its possible that if you used the washer system, the pump may have been damaged. You may also want to inspect the nozzles and see if they are clogged with any debris.

I've heard you can use an air hose to blast whatever is blocking it down, but I'd wait for someone to comment on that before you go doing it.

That doesn't work because they have a check ball in them that prevents backflow. Most likely this ball is stuck closed. First remove the hose from the back of the unit or at the T connector and try blowing air through it. If that doesn't free it you'll need to remove the unit from the hood and run some solvent and then water through it.

There IS a fuse for the washer pump motor, at least there is on my '00 (10A I believe). I've had to replace mine twice. 3rd time my washer motor appeared to not work, I checked the fuse and it was OK, inferring the motor went bad. However, sometime later it started working again, so I have some intermittent going on (probably in the motor). I haven't had the chance yet to dig into it further.

Johnnybz is right. there is a fuse for the pump. It's in the fuses under the hood (#2 10 amp). I had the same problem, sure enough it was the fuse. Thanks johnny.

Hey open the hood and check the hose along the passenger side. I had the same problem and realized the hose was getting pinched when you shut the hood.
