Over the past couple of days this problem has been happening more often. After I took it to the dealer(2 weeks ago) and picked it up, I bought a multi-meter and tested the battery every day and the voltage tested good. The car wasn't having any trouble starting until a couple of days ago when I was having to jump it to get it started. Then when it started it was throwing a message of "check charging system," but ran fine when the engine was running. Then on Sunday I tried starting it and got a wierd sound coming from the starter, like it was being fried instead of the usual click. Put on a new starter and now starts and runs good with out the "check charging message." Voltage is where it should be when running along with the battery when the car is off. The starter was my original thought when this first started occuring in November, but dealer said it was the battery. After five months the starter must have gotten to the point where it couldn't produce. This should fix it. 2000 V8
