Stealership and Window tint....

As far as I know, it is illigal to do everything to the car if it is not factory. I used to have some exhaust before on my Golf 5 years ago, and I got a ticket for it.. It wasn't loud though, just the sound was a little different.

I had 35% on my first car, but it was too dark to see through at night. It did keep the glare out my eyes, but I "died" at night. In order to keep the glare out my eyes and keep the interior of the car cool. Down the line, I saw a 55% film that was the best of both worlds. I can still see at night, it reflects light, so you can HARDLY see me in the daytime, and the interior of my car stays cool.

27 years in Law Enforcement and I never heard of this. What state makes all vehicle modifications illegal?

25% on the windshield means yours is illegal too. Looks like the cops in FL are going to be making some $$$ off you guys when you get fix-it tickets.

Merry Xmas!
The real issue will arise if you have an accident and have an illegal coating on your windshield. Possible repercussions include your Insurance coverage for the accident being voided, you being held accountable civilly for a % of the accident even if it would normally be the other guys fault. Just be aware that these kinds of things can come back to haunt you when you least expect it.;)

one other thing. my 03 apparently has some great uv coating. it's black on black and even on a hot summer day is just warm inside (none of the surfaces are hot to touch). pretty impressive.

Thanks again man.....Like I stated there are very few cops that enforce the tint laws down here....Usally its when your acting like a "DICK" then they lay into you for everything.....If I am not mistaken Window tint is now a secondary ticket in florida....Meaning I have to get stopped for something else.....If i get stopped I would probally just pay the ticket instead of fixing it.....But I dont do anything stupid to get stopped....I drive like my Grandmother (99.5%) of the time.....It saves a ton on GAS!!!!!
Ok...time for me to pipe in on this one. First thing, i had a good friend who got hired with Orange Co. Fire/Rescue in Maitland. When he got hired he almost got disqualified for his driving record. It wasnt a point that he would be driving a county vehicle, because he wasnt. It was the issue of moral and judgement seeing most of his tickets were speeding, racing etc. So the little things do count alot when under investigation for hire. Secondly, your illegal window tint, on any window is PC to initiate a traffic stop. Period. As far as your 99.5% grandma driving, you'd be amazed at how easily you can create PC for a traffic stop. Never Never assume your "good" driving will not get you stopped. Also, accidents are just that, accidents. Its not something you plan for. Any accident you have with windshield tint will fall back on you BIGTIME. Insurance problems, criminal/legal problems, cival litigation. If a driver hit me and i found out he had windshield tint i would be all over them. I agree that here in Florida it has a very good purpose, but its not worth the potential consequences.

Hey FL I know what your talking about I talked to the guys in charge about the driving record and Im OK ....Your right about the speeding and everything most of mine were BS non-moving violations......If I have to take it off then I will Im not gonna do it just CUZ.....If you guys saw how easy it is to see out you would understand that its not a issue on seeing out....Im more likely to get caught for the side windows vs the winshield...The guy did a great job and its so tight and clean you cant tell by walking up and looking.....
