I have a 96 VIII and it has started leaking power steering fluid and the steering is dragging a little.
I want to know if anybody has replaced the steering rack with a quick ratio from a Mustang?

I just rebuilt the front suspension replacing everything but spindles and rake.
The brakes have been up graded to Cobra's in the front with Cobra R rims.

I have a T bird complete IRS to replace the stock IRS. That is the next project.

Thanks to every one that posted information on rebuilding the front suspension with T bird parts.

Why you like adding cast iron to your car over light alum?

I guess I don't see the advantage in the T Bird rear either.

I don't recall any one replacing with anything other them a stock rack. It's more then likely your high pressure PS line leaking, that's allot more common.

I've replaced my pressure line to the pump twice. It's kind of a bitch. A crow's foot makes it easy to get the line loose from the pump, otherwise there's no room to turn a wrench.

I had a leak at the seal at the pump twice. The first one was under warranty.

My return hose was leaking on the black 94 and I replaced it in about 10 min once the hose was in hand. Stopped the leak. You mentioned steering fluid... is that what you're really using? If so, might want to change that out.

what fluid should be ran in the power steering? you got me interested as im about to have to change my rack

I'd advise using Type F or Mercon III in the power steering system. Mercon V would likely be fine as well, but I have not researched it.
