Hey All,
I have recently been having problems with the controls on my steering wheel. The minus (-) to lower the volume instead raises the volume and the plus (+) to raise the volume switches tracks or media... has anyone else had this problem and is taking it to the dealer my best bet?

almost identical prblem over here.. my malfunction is the phone mute button does not work at all and the (V) down arrow on the side to select the previous track or radio station only selects the NEXT not the previous song/station. cruise control works great though and never had an airbag light.

on another note, do you have a stock head unit? if so does it light up when you turn on the lights? because mine doesn't, just curious if its related. howabout your cruise control? i'm assuming that works properly

I'd wager these other things will act up eventually. Mine began with the radio controls and was isolated to the radio controls for months. Eventually the airbag light was on constantly. The cruise control didn't ever get really bad (as bad as the radio) but it did have issues from time to time. Held out on the new clock spring until just before it was time for a state inspection.

I didn't even need to use the buttons, sometimes things just happened and sometimes I would use a button and it would tell another function to do its duties.

This happened on my first 00 LS. The clockspring caused teh controls to work in reverse or not at all. But for the illumination failure, they took the radio out and put a new one in. Dont think that was related to the clockspring.

Clockspring.

NExt thing to happen will be the airbag light illuminating and cruise control buttons acting wacky, which is slightly dangerous in my opinion. Made me nervous the first time I hit "cancel"..and the car actually sped up. WTF

Yea... My airbag thing is acting up! I don't even want to try my cruise control... Thanks everyone for the help!!

Yeah I second "itsnotmydaddys" question. My LS just started doing it 2 days ago. What a coincidence considering this was posted recently. But, I consider my self more mechanically inclined then the normal person. Plus I am always ready to learn new things.
