The front end is as tight as can be and has new strut rod bushings and lower drivers bj..........Iguess i have to tell you guys the prob first...

The steering is pretty hard to turn and doesnt "retract" when completing a turn...It just sticks at the final point before i release it and will go to that direction.Very little assist...

I was thinking a rack and pinion

You may want to flush he power steering fluid. But, did you get an alignment? And if so, maybe it should be checked.

Well the racks rarely go bad, as a matter of fact I have not heard of one going bad on Mark. I would suspect the other ball joint, or like I said, the alignment. Maybe the alignment was not done right or something came lose. Otherwise there is not much.

I guess and alignment check would be first on my list, then a fluid flush. From there, check out the other ball joint.

my buddy is a mech and said everything else up front was good...I then took it to pep boys for a alighnment cause my buddies machine was down. They completed it and there was no change...

World a bad bj really make it difficult to steer?

It doesnt make any noises up front at all..

Well my Rack is gone bad. its leaks alot but works. i have to put a quort in a day. just wanted to say that and it dos not retract too good eather.

Mine stiff too. (has to be steered back to dead center) All my stuff is new also and alignment was just done. No uneven tire wear either. Just figured that the rack must be getting old and stiff. (Like me - Lol)

you probably need a new metal line that connects at the rack,i just went through replacing all that stuff myself.

salt and crap gets packed up in there and rots/rusts the lines right near the connection to the rack

ya i replaced thoughs and it still leaks from the rack. i know were it is but the shop said i need a new one. im still driving it though. at least my fluid is clean lol.

Thanks for sharing that info, i will give those things a try sometime soon. The boots getting stiff sounds like a valid cause as my steering does have that 'springy' feel like there is something causing resistance. :)

Thats so sad... that one of my threads!! Never thought of that.
