The steering wheel on my 97 lsc will go in and out but not up and down could it be a switch?

Try this: spray all around the switch with an electrical contact cleaner spray. It worked on my '97. Sometimes, over time, dust and crap builds up in the switch.

Thanks I will try it. Replacing the potentiometer looks like a job.
