My CD player took a crap on me so I ordered a new CD player. Now I'm looking into replacing the speakers. I just wanted everyone's thoughts on what kind of speakers I should get. I was thinking maybe Infinity, Pioneer, or JL. Thanks in advance.

of those listed, JL.

personally, I really like alpine. (Type S for non amplified or type R for amplified)

for the record, all of those are not even in the same ball park as each other,
most of pioneer's speakers use thin plastic for their cones and tweeters = kinda harsh sound, especially as higher volume, very "peaky"
infinity uses much nicer materials for their drivers which give a much softer and smoother sound, very warm and rich sounding
JL tends to be very sharp, and clear, real precise.

alpine seems to fall somewhere in between the infinity and JL. still very clear and precise but still with a little bit of warmth.

Matt, was that a Factory HU that died? I'm considering building a Car PC and would love to have a factory unit to tear apart to use for said project.

Can't justify tearing apart my working Factory HU is why i ask.

Ya it was a factory HU. You're welcome to have it. Just have to pay for the shipping and what not.

I'll let you know once i've priced out the other parts for what I want to do.

i just put 4 pioneer 6x8 in the doors. sounds 10x better and was only 80 for all on sale
