Stock shifter

Is the stock shifter a cable shifter or a rod shifter?

i dont think it will either, i do like the idea of the look of a pistol grip in there though. the rachet through third though will be a nice touch. im gonna have to get the tranny to shift according to it though, instead of the immediate 1-2, and then the whenever it feels like it 2-3. idk if thats a shifter kind of thing, or just a computer thing, but that is getting solved one way or another.
 
YOu can do what you want with the stock shifter. Transgo makes a kit that replaces the manual valve and it will hold any gear that you want. Do not install the upgraded torque converter spring. Leave the stock one in if you are going to do it. It will not lock-up the converter if you put the upgraded one in. other wise so LOVE that kit !!!

When and if you do put the shifter in you will have to install a button for the overdrive. It is electronic.

thats why i picked that one, its got a button for nos or transbrake or whatnot, so im gonna wire that to the overdrive.
