Stock tip size

Hey guys. Got a quick question. Anyone know what size the stock exhaust tips are?
 
Too small if you ask me. May I ask why? Get some Magnaflow 4" tips they fill out the bumper cut outs perfectly.
 
Probably around 2.5". Its been over 2 years since I got rid of them.
 
Speaking of exhaust and tips, I was under my LS today, mostly cause I needed to check for myself how my front end parts are holding up, I also checked out the rear end and having a look at the Bassani exhaust I only just put on this past early summer .... YIKES !!!!

Full of rust already. Mostly surface rust but rust none the less. Damn salty roads !!!
 
mlara, Im a college kid with a very tight budget right now. what happened was the shop that i had install my new mufflers a couple of years ago welded on my stock tips because i was at the time on a tight budget lol. Anyways, i went to the exhaust shop that put them on and they said they would put a new one on for free if i bought the tip. I want to replace both with bigger magnaflows, but right now im on a little bit of a budget.

Completely understandable. Not too long ago (5/12) I was a broke college kid myself. Now im just broke lol

There are alternatives to the magnaflows which many have used for quite cheap. Somewhere around $30/tip. You will need to do some searching. Stock tips will probably run you more actually. Since they're chrome, used parts sellers try to kill uninformed buyers on the price.
 
I have a set of the larger tips, should sell them as I don't like them vs. the stockers. They as the same as the Magnaflows expect have the 'Pypes' script. Polished stainless, 2.5" pipe, 4" (I think) angle cut.
 
Im just trying to decide if i should wait until i have more money to get new, bigger tips, or just replace the one i have now. I really would like magnaflows as i have a magnaflow system. If i wait, then it wouldnt be until i get my tax refund back. Plus a benefit of waiting is there wouldnt b any salt on the roads when it warms up. I just hate driving around with only one exhaust tip. Makes it look like &ss
 
Make sure you get a double-walled tip or they will turn blue.
