Straight Pipes Too Much?

I've been kicking around the idea of deleting the third cat and having straight pipes put in place. How loud would this be? There are a few mustangs around that roar, and I'm a little jealous. I don't have tons of money to drop on an exhaust, and I would love to have a roar like that, anyone done/heard it?

Loud... Neve did straight pipes but took off the rear two mufflers once and that was very loud.

I like it with just a muffler at the resonator and pipes back from there.

I actually just got the exhaust done on barney on tuesday. I ordered 2 x-pipes but only got 1 of them. I removed the 3rd cat and true dual 2 1/2 pipe all the way back. It sounds good but its not really as loud as we all were expecting. It still turns some heads. Ill try and get some pics up 2morrow im gettin ready to go to work. It only cost me $250 for the whole thing.

Double X pipe?!?!?

That would be my guess. Some people (LMS) make a double X and from what I understand, the extra X improves the sound.

I have deleted my resonator & both rear mufflers, Put a set of straight pipes in their place with 3 1/2" chrome slanted tips. I think it sounds great! Yeah, it's got drone in the car but the sound is really good! Very close to my niegbors 04 cobra minus the supercharger whine.

As long as you have the two front cats I don't think it is too loud no matter what you do to the exhaust.

I like mine. Might be a little much without the fatty tires.

I really like yours 02lse, always have. My question is because I have a 93 with no cutouts will it look like a$$? Anyone have any pics, I'm looking for a 3.5" slanted

I just whacked the mufflers off and threw 3.5 tips on it and did not touch anything else and it sounds really good at idle and when on cruise or above 55 you really don't get a drone! and it looks oh so good haha

Yeah I really liked yours too, that's why i did mine like that. Looks great! Yours are a little bigger though I think.
