are the super coupe bars worth the trouble? how much should i pay? I've got lowered coils and 245-50-zr16 tires and cobra r rear shocks. any thoughts?

It's worth it in the rear, especially if you can pull it off an old SC.
The front is an awful lot of work.

I have a rear sc bar. I couldn't notice a diff because when i bought my 8 my stock bar was allready rusted out and snapped in half.

Iirc i paid 5-60 shipped.

thanks I'm going to start looking for one locally. i just wonder if a front bar wouldn't be a good idea like in the overall performance but it probably is easier doing just the rear

The rear is a breeze, just lube em up before you do it. The front i wouldnt even think about. WAY to much work!!

I can't remember, but didn't the Thunderbird "sport" model have a larger swaybar too?

However, I thoroughly suggest the rear, I did notice a reduction in the understeer following the swap.

I just did my front and rear sway bar last month. I was redoing all the front suspension so i figured why not upgrade the swaybars. I replaced them with 89 sc swaybars and it is a noticible dfference. Lot less body roll and the whole car stays "planted" much better now. U have to drop the k member to get the front swaybar to go in though. Overall for the 70 bucks for front and rear bar i found it made a great cheap investment/upgrade.

ok so on another side track, where would you buy brand new sway bars from and which ones for the most sporty ride

The 727 is 1 3/8", the 726 is 1 1/4" - those are both for the front...

I got a 727 front and 666 rear (also 1 3/8",) the cheapest place I found was neverenoughauto.com at $330 for both shipped as of about a month ago.

The 727s and 666s are stiff as hell. Ive got them front and back. Corners so good that I don't care. Get the addcos!

Would 726 on both front and rear make the car ride to stiff?

Probably, because the 726 is for the FRONT of the car.

i can't find those at neverenoughauto.com, all they have is air filters

They actually had them listed on eBay, so I emailed them for a quote without the eBay fees. They came back with $330 shipped for both, which is the cheapest I found by a wide margin. I tried Summit, SpinningWheels SC, Shox.com, and a couple others.
