TCI Streetfighter 3000rpm converter installed!

Im not posting anything about my rear end but theres other who have write-ups ect on this site. The gears of choice are 3.58's for the LSD installs.

these cars should be stalled higher.... 3400 seems mucho bettero! and I would def lock the rear

First off, thats not even close to Spanish. Second, have fun blowing your tires apart, I mean, Im not the one with the "low-stall" or anything, I dont know how this sh!t works.. Gonna need slicks home boy but hey maybe your under powered LS has the torque curve higher than mine and you need a higher stall than mine to make up for your lack of power.

That's what I meant, silly. I meant with the traction issues from a higher stall TC, you'd have the best results with a locking rear and some DR's.

Ill lock your rear Dr.

WD40 tastes soooo good on SANDWICHES. YES! SANDWICHES!

awesome. try launching from idle. when i launched from idle with my mustang that had a stall the whole slip was better at the track. old guys kept telling me it would be like a running start. the revs jump and then grab hard. food for thought, my slips improved

Whenever I get my LS fixed which will hopefully be by the date in my sig... Ill try both footbraking and just flashing it off the line

ANY LINKS to this sed tci? id like to know the price for that biznitch and how much they would charge me around here to get it installed!!!!

it's around 300-500 for the TC....and it determines by shop on the install

500 new, used are generally 2-350.

the streetfighter is for I think 2600-3600 set stall? I think...... I can't remember exactly....right now I'm in plenty of pain from the gym so I'm gonna sleep on it tonight :p

Streetfighter is set to 3000rpms unless you request a different stall speed. They don't have a "range" so to speak, although every vehicle will stall differently. That's why a lot of places will restall a tc once for free. Don't know if tci does that, though.

is the street fighter the one u got? since we wanted a 4.56 final right?

The TC does nothing for gears. The TC just helps you start further into the power band. You ever notice how the car doesn't really get torquey and pull hard until about 3000rpm? Imagine if you could just start at 3000 and not have to worry about climbing up from 2K first. That's what the new TC will do. The TC sits between the engine and transmission, inside the bellhousing. The 4.56 you speak of is a gear ratio. The gears are located in the rear diff.

that's what I meant Pete just those are the stall RPMs you can set it at. the cheaper TC are only in the 1000-2000rpm range :p

YOU, cant set it at anything, once you get it thats it unless you take it back out of the car, send it to a shop and have them rework the converter to set the stall speed at a different RPM. Its a lot of work and most places wont do it, changing the pitch on the fins ect effect said stall speed.

The cheaper torque converters are just that, cheap. The stall speed has nothing to do with price but usually if you need a higher stall, you need better components because you have more power ect and thats why they cost more.

Please dont just post random sh!t about things if you dont know what the hell your talking about Re-Pete cause you posted a lot of crap in that other thread thats worthless.

While what you are saying technically is correct the rear gear ratio has some affect on how the TC performs. You will definitely notice a difference in how a car drives with a loose converter drives with a gear change. From 3.31 to 3.58 probably not much but to 4.56s big difference.

Right, but in the context of djknowledge's statement, all I was saying is that a TC has no effect on adjusting a gear ratio. 2 completely different things. I assumed he was saying the TC could somehow alter the gear ratio.
