Or it could be the 2-1/2 years of Dem leadership in the House and Senate and a short 6 months of the Messiah.

But heh... if the shoe fits...

funny how when bush got in office everyone instantly blamed him for problems in the economy we faced and some blamed the towers falling on him but when he gets out lets still blame him for gas prices and what we are dealing with. im curious to see when people stop blaming him. not saying he was the best president but he did alot of things that helped our country out. just never gets noticed. so lets keep blaming him. and when our country still spirals into depression with the years passing lets still blame him. why not. obama can do no wrong right?

Blaming Obama right now for the economy is like blaming a relief pitcher for a loss when he steps in loosing 12-0 ballgame. I did not vote for Obama or McCaine!

You have no idea the legislation that Obama, Pelosi and Reid are pushing thru Congress, do you?

Nationalizing the Investment Industry
Nationalizing the Auto Industry
Nationalizing the Housing Industry
Nationalizing the Health Care Industry
Destroying our Energy Sector

The list is so long on such a short time and the damage is immense.

Keep listening to the MSM. And keep those blinders on.;)

Yes I am aware. YOU ARE BLAMING HIM FOR A SITUATION THAT WAS CREATED BEFORE HE TOOK OFFICE!
Maybe in 3.5 yrs you can blame him for the state of the country if and when his ideas do not pan out, and as we have seen in the past, the Gov cant run a whore house and turn a profit.I did not vote for the guy or McCain! Between the Dims and Repugs nothing changes! We need a 3rd party!

I don't feel that obama is responsible except for some of gm's job losses. This :q:q:q:q was coming anyway, didn't matter who was pres.

During the campaign for the presidency, I said the president is not that important a position, that it is the members of congress we need to keep a close watch on.
Sure, the pres signs the bill that he wants, but the jerks in congress are the one's who come up with the bills in the first place.
They are the one's that do the voting on bills, not the pres.
In spite of what present, past, and future presidents say, they are partisan all the way.
They sign bills that their party is in favor of, and veto those from the opposing party.
This "reaching across party lines" is just that, a line, a line of bull$:q:q:q:q.
So, to blame Obama for what the congress is dishing out isn't any different than what has been going on since the first president was elected.
I said it then, and I will say it again, when election time comes around in your state, pay very close attention to those you are voting into congress.
That is where the pendulum swings.
As an example, Ms Pelosi was running as a rep for San francisco and surrounding areas when she first started.
Now look where she is today.
If you don't think local election matter, you have been hiding under a rock.
Bob.
Bob.

He played a part in many of those issues as well. And the policies that lead to this, Obama is doing nothing to remove. His policies that he has enacted have made things worse and are going to keep make things worse, just like FDR's policies turned a recession into the Great Depression.

The methods he is trying to implement are nothing new and have been shown to fail where ever they are tried.

Don't forget which side of the isle was warning of coming crisis in the Housing market during the Bush years and which side vehemently denied that there was a problem at the time.

LMAO, when I went today for pt, they said the army was almost full. How you diggin bible thumper springs? Been their once, never want to go back.

Can you think of anything the government has done that will actually make it better?

Better question, can you think of anything they've done in the past year that is going to make it worse?

No, but the individuals suffering from the economy can make their situation better.

No, but the individuals suffering from the economy can make their situation better.

Exactly! The government cannot make things better, only individuals can work to make their own situation better.

I also feel no government caused this "recession" to happen, it was greedy: 1. People buying $500,000 houses on a $35,000 salary.
2. American companies making POS and selling it at a premium price, while foreign companies made quality product and sold it at a much lower price.

It's not a Bush, Obama, Goverment issue, its a greed issue.

American companies making POS and selling it at a premium price,

Have you ever made a product here in the United States and sold it here?

I buy AA alkaline batteries for $.08 each. Tell me how to make those here in the U.S. for that much please.

I am not sure what you do to get them for that low, but you cannot buy go into a "wal-mart" and find them for under $4 for a pack of 4.

If you are getting batteries that low, you are buying in extremely large quantities, how much do you sell them for?

Really? So, the Democrats (and even then ACORN Activist, Barack Hussein Obama) had nothing to do with forcing banks to make a percentage of their loans to people who could clearly not afford said houses?

2. American companies making POS and selling it at a premium price, while foreign companies made quality product and sold it at a much lower price.

And, pray tell, who is at fault for this? Couldn't be the Unions, with their overpaid, benefit laden members who can't make a decent product, could it? Who are the unions blowing? Yup. That's right. The Democrats.

Let's blame the business owners who were practically terrorized into having to pay more for labor because of these unions. Those evil business owners who like to make money, so they pass the cost increases to the end consumer, which a lot of the times is the same Union shop employee.

Think about it, man! Business owners are in it to make a fair profit. But when Unions, regulations, and yes, even Taxes start cutting into the business owner's fair profits, guess what? The business owner passes these costs onto the consumer. This is simple stuff you learn in Economics 0.

This, my friend, is stuff that someone in your position of never having owned a business (no, the Lemonade stand you had as a kid don't count), will never understand. People like you (don't even go there, you know what i mean) will always love them Government Entitlements because this is all you will likely know. Until you sign the front of a paycheck that's coming out of YOUR bank account, you'll never understand why National Health Care is a bad idea, why the aforementioned batteries made in the US cost more than the same batteries made in China. You will never understand why taxing the Rich (the people who create jobs), into oblivion is a bad idea.

If you ever start your own business, I guarantee you will change your tune about most of the stuff you believe in now.

It's not a Bush, Obama, Goverment issue, its a greed issue.

In a way you're right, and yet wrong. I'd love to get into it, but I'm hanging upside down and typing is a bish.

Dollar stores.

4AA for a $1.

And yes I buy a bunch but that is not the point.

We no longer have a level playing field for manufacturing here in the U.S. The rest of the world has the same machining capability and their production costs are not anywhere what they are here in the U.S.

So your comment about Americans making trash and charging a premium rubs me wrong.

If Africa would/could become more business friendly, I'd go there in a heartbeat and set up manufacturing in one of the western countries like Morocco, Sierra Leone, Liberia or Guinea.

Just a short hop across the Atlantic.

Could you imagine what would happen if all Americans had to make quarterly tax payments? People just look at the net in their check. They don't understand the FACT that the employer makes a matching tax payment for FICA.

=========================================================
Statutory Payroll Tax Deductions
Payroll taxes must be withheld from an employee's paycheck. This is required by law. Employers must hand these withholdings over to various tax agencies. Payroll tax deductions include the following:
•Federal income tax withholding (based on withholding tables in Publication 15)
•Social Security tax withholding (6.2% up to the annual maximum)
•Medicare tax withholding (1.45%)
•State income tax withholding
•Various local tax withholdings (such as city, county, or school district taxes, state disability or unemployment insurance).

Employer Payroll Taxes
Companies are responsible for paying their portion of payroll taxes. These payroll taxes are an added expense over and above the expense of an employee's gross pay. The employer-portion of payroll taxes include the following:
•Social Security taxes (6.2% up to the annual maximum)
•Medicare taxes (1.45% of wages)
•Federal unemployment taxes (FUTA)
•State unemployment taxes (SUTA)

FICA Taxes
FICA stands for the Federal Insurance Contributions Act. The FICA tax consists of both Social Security and Medicare taxes. Social Security and Medicare taxes are paid both by the employees and the employer. Both parties pay half of these taxes. Employees pay half, and employers pay the other half. Together both halves of the FICA taxes add up to 15.3%. The 15.3% FICA tax is broken down as follows:
•Social Security (Employee pays 6.2%)
•Social Security (Employer pays 6.2%)
•Medicare (Employee pays 1.45%)
•Medicare (Employer pays 1.45%)
========================================================
People don't even realize that the government steals 7.65% of their checks.

If people actually had to write out the full amount of all the taxes they were paying, people would go crazy.

But the sheeple stay content in their ignorance and continue to vote for the very people that do them harm financially.
