The Chrome is Home...Before and After of my Powder Coated Rims

Good looking car, man! :) Nice rims.

Thanks, for the price I couldn't go wrong ($75) for all of em but I think 18" inchers would have been a better look?

That and I can't sensor lower it cause the back tires rub over bigger bumps :(

You have really made me EXTREMELY confused!

For the last couple months I had already made up my mind about selling both my chrome Cobra sets & just buy ONE new set of Saleen or bullitt wheels (black) & call it a day. However seeing how cheap I can have my Cobra R's sand blasted & powder coated. I can save myself half of the aggravation... but Cobra R's will never be the same as Saleens or Bullitts. WTF do I do?!?!?!?!?

Yeah but the $75 was a luck of I got the rims that cheap cause they were spray bombed back and a bit bent. I called in some favors and got em straightened on the cheap side then got the Powder Coating in trade for a set of Honda rims I had laying around.

He normally charges $300 for doing a set of rims like mine that I know of? That includes the stripping them and coating.

Even at $300 for a set it's way less than $200 each wheel to re-chrome. I was planning on re-chroming my Cobra R's until I shopped around. So they're just sitting in my back yard. My '97 is wearing 2001 Cobra wheels now. However I just don't want to let the other set just sit & rot.

I'm hijacking your thread here so I'm opening a new thread/poll. I truly am confused!

I actually wanted them Chromed at first accept I knew the price was gonne make a new set the better option. Then when he stripped the rears they looked so clean it looked like a quick hit with on the buffing wheel would make them shine.

Unfortunately the Ford front had a very rough casting after they were stripped. Then I don't know how they can get chrome off of a rim without possibly hurting the rim on the cheap

All I know is I am happy with how these turned out, especially for the price :D

So the day I put the tires on the newly Coated front rims I did the UCA's at the same time. Half cause I am to lazy to take the wheels off again and cause I didn't want to waste the tires with the flaky alignment.

This was the stock 69k original units
