ok so I've been doing tons of work to the LS lately to have her ready for the wedding. No more! I quit! Im sick and tired of these little things that need work or things that need to be replaced. I could easily sit here and come up with a parts list that eclipses the worth of the car. I've lost that ls lovin feeling.

cross roads everyone comes to when working on a car i guess. Im just so flippin frustrated!

im not going to say its for sale, but if I got a good offer it would gone tomorrow

wait!

you are suppose to turbo it first - thensurpriseusandquicklysellit

I Feel the exact same way, as soon as you think you have everything workin the way it needs to some BS seems happen. Love the LS but its a time bomb

seriously though... I mocking up my exhaust today and saw some things I'd want to do to the car... minor things most people would over look, but its going to bug the crap out of me. I got so fed up with it, i had to walk away. I closed the garage and havent been back out since

Sean I figured you would get bothered by having to do the mufflers just to meet tech. I would have gotten pretty ticked too. Unless you have a good gut feeling that they will tech the hell out of your specific car for some reason I would just leave the exhaust alone and see what happens. I do not recall if you have ran at that track before, and thus know how tech is, but you could take the future wife's TA there and run it one of these nights. When you are teching in pay close attention to what the tech guys are checking on your car and other peoples cars. If they are actually doing a visual check of the exhausts then you have something to be worried about but if they are not then you will likely be scott free.

Don't let it turn into a chore bud just enjoy it. Once it turns into you viewing the project as a chore you will find yourself pushing it off allot more and just letting it sit rather than enjoy it. If I were you I would just get the car in good working order again and have fun just driving it and running it at the track. If you end up doing the turbo system then that is cool and I will assist in any way I can; but if you do not then that is cool too. I think you are putting allot of pressure on yourself through getting your expectations too high for you having to mod the car to some sort of unique power or ET level. Go with what makes you happy buddy. And if that includes driving your LS down to Mississippi to give it to me as an early birthday present then that is good too. :D

I've been there. It's not an LS thing it's a car thing in general. Especially when you start modifying things go wrong. Mechanical parts wear out or break, electronic have gremlins, rust happens. I was at the same point with the Mark VIII. I decided to keep going but who knows when something else will go wrong and put me over the edge.

I sometimes feel the same way, right now theres 3 things I have to replace, and those are:
1. passenger side window regulator.
2. passenger rear hub, thats making that humming noise (annoying)
3. I have to glue the rain sensor from behind the rear view mirror it came apart from the windshield.

and last but not least my car got keyd on my rear deck so I have to get that done. Then Im going to start my mods, exhaust, hid's, ect ect......

Every car has it's problems.....same with women...you try and change them but they rebel and :q:q:q:q with you......cosmetic jobs they have no problem with..both women/cars :p

Only difference is which 1 you gonna take to bed..and which 1 you take to work :p

good contribution

If you think things are bad now, wait until you turbo that LS. I went through the same process in 1994 with having 1 of 3 turbo charged Nissan 240sx KADET's in the US. Once it was done it was sweet but maintenance was there EVERY SINGLE WEEK!! Tightening exhaust manifold bolts coming loose, intercooler clamps loosening, calibrating my injector controller for weather changes, yadda, yadda, yadda. That is when I decided the next turbo car I buy will have to come with a factory turbo and upgrade from there. 15 years later and now I have my next factory turbo car to play with.

her and I were talking last night about, my car in general. We talked about trading it, selling it, driving it to get the love back (shes been parked for a while), and what to do about the exhaust. I'm not going to spend the money on an exhaust im just going to rip off down the road. Should they decide they want to look under my lowered LS, they arent going to be able to see a damn thing anyway. If they get crazy and lift the car to see the resinators, ill tell them they are bullet style mufflers. If they give me a hard time than, I'll beat em with a tire iron. My car is loud, but its no worse than a catback mustang. The turbo will be coming. I want it now, but with the wedding plans and such, im not ready to make the investment..... yet ;)

As far as the feeling of having to have the fastest most powerful LS out there. I doubt ill ever be the top dawg, but I do intend to be up there. I want the power I know these cars can produce. You know more than anyone else on here, I never stop looking for ways to get these things to boogy

I agree and disagree. I agree all kinds of car guys get to these stages. I just have never hit this point in any of my builds. the F-150, Mustang, Civic, tC, G5, Trans Am... none of them got me to feel like this. I think allot of it is I dont get to drop her at the end of the day and drive off to some open road and enjoy my work.

best post i've seen from you. I think you clearly dont know me to well though. I the nut who would park his wife in the driveway and take his LS to bed.

ehhhh... the tuning of a turbo doesnt bother me. its more the how to get more power from the turbo at that point. hee hee. I just need to get there before I scrap the car out of frustration

MY Rear quarter panel got keyed also. This guy in his ugly ass Honda Accord keyed it after a run on the highway. I normally don't do that but he taunted me for like 10 miles, so i let him have it and he was pissed when he lost. followed me to Wal-mart and got me while i was inside! Bastards with there stupid Hondas!

I'm at this point with my LS right now. It seems like every time I fix something, it 3 things break.

I hear ya but I feel like im up 1 right now AND its been a week. I only have the heated seat that doesn't work. I just had 3 problems 2 weeks ago and it feels like everytime I fix one of the 3 another comes about.Don't know if I even want to fix the heated seat. I can live with that broken right now. Its SPRING.
