Ive done enough searching and tried the majority of the answers given to solve my overheating problem but no progress my patience is running out

Ive replaced the degas bottle, upper and lower radiator hoses, thermostat, and thermostat housing(jaguar parts) all oem parts from rock auto

My mechanic has bled it his own way and i have given him the correct procedure that i found in the forums its still overheating coolant pours out behind the driver side wheel

What are any other plastic parts i need to replace? Or anything Im overlooking

Honestly im think it might be best just to get rid of the car completely its just not working out for me
01 v8 140000+miles on it

Sounds like the degas bottle is leaking. Did you use an OEM (Motorcraft) or non-OEM bottle? Is the bottom hose correctly attached?

If you used a non-OEM (Dorman) bottle, that could very well be your problem. Leaking behind the driver's wheel is the give-away, IMHO.

Everything i purchased was from rock auto except the bottle which was purchased from tasca auto parts everything is motorcraft i always make sure to purchase oem

U said ur mechanic bled it his own way, please bleed it yourself according to the tech articles above. It is very simple to do and most likely the cause of your overheat.

I gave him the correct bleeding procedure from the tech articles and told him to do it at least 5 times

last time i spoke with him he was saying i may have a blown head gasket

Is coolant leaking anywhere? I would also only trust myself to complete the bleed procedure so I knew it was done right.

coolant leaks from behind the drivers side wheel so my guess its coming from the bottle which i replaced already

Possible causes: bottle, hose connecting to the bottom of the bottle, bottle cap.

If you're going to replace the bottle best bet would be to get it from the dealer so you know for sure its motorcraft. I ordered mine online from one of the parts websites (I don't remember which exactly) and got the Dorman bottle. It lasted less than a year - maybe 8,000 miles before it failed again.

Did you replace or test the degas bottle cap? It has a built in pressure release at about 15 PSI.
Is it possible that the bottom hose on the degas bottle is not correctly connected?

You could do a static pressure test on the system. If it leaks during the test, you will be able to find the exact leak location. If it does not leak during the test, it could be that coolant in boiling in the engine and it is being correctly vented at the degas bottle cap. If it is boiling in the engine, you will have to find out why. (Air leak, failed water pump, clogged radiator, failing hydraulic cooling fan, bad new thermostat, ...)

my car doesn't blow hot air at all so the dccv needs to be replaced will the bad dccv affect the bleed procedure since the heater needs to turned to max

That sounds like the thermostat. IIRC, the Gen1 has a two piece thermostat that only correctly installs one way. Leaking behind the driver's wheel is something wrong with the degas install or the cap. Did you reuse the old cap? Or, there is the very off chance the new bottle is already cracked.

Yes, it would prevent you from correctly bleeding the heater circuit.
Note that not correctly bleeding can also cause failure of the heater, so it may not be the DCCV.
Did you get a good stream of coolant out of the heater bleed?

i looked at receipts from tasca parts i believe my order was just the bottle and overflow hose

I thought that gen I had a "normal" one piece thermostat? (Of course, it might still be put in backwards.)

I know that gen II has a multi-piece thermostat with more opportunity to get it wrong.

That what it is. I had it backwards....... THANKS for the correction! :)

im going to buy a new cap and the dccv and have my mechanic recheck the install on the thermostat and bottle and have bleed it again ill update when its done

Is the top of the bottle wet? Look closely and make sure the hoses aren't leaking.

i dont have the car with me to check but before i dropped it off to him all i saw was the same white smoke and coolant poring out from behind the wheel and seemed like the coolant was boiling didnt see any wetness at the top of the bottle

Sounds to me like either the lower part of the bottle is defective or the bottle wasn't connected correctly.

I once ordered a doorman bootle that lasted 1 day so yes I think its the bottle. go get the one straight from the dealership it cost 170 bucks but its worth it.
