Thinking about removing letters off trunk lid

I took the lettering off of my LS and it lookes too plain, so I put them back on. It could be because of the silver color.

After pektel said something I noticed that and I think its just a 2nd Gen thing.

I was wondering is badging had any laws tied to it so cops could id you and stuff.....most cops wont be able to id you on their scanner without reading the badge on your car

There is one badge on your car that is it not legal to remove.... the License Plate. That one will tell the cop what you are driving. It is also printed on your insurance card. Debadging a vehicle poses no legal risk.

Personally, I think the LS is not suited to de-badging. Some cars are, some aren't (my last car was de-badged). The rear end looks way too plain without badges....plus, I kinda like having the V8 emblem on. I would leave them on, but it is personal preference.

I have a dealer sticker on my car, whats the best way to take it off w/o a razor im to scared to do that

index.cfm

Just keep it on there and every month send them an advertising bill.

Here's my rear end. LS V8 sport with no badging. I like it a lot. One person who knew a lil about the LS said oh you've only got the 6cyl? and I laughed. What's in the car? It is a mystery... Oh and please pardon the dirt :(

That's the first reason I take the dealer decal off every car that I own.. the second reason is the look. To be completely different than the others who are debadging, I added one to the car.

VTEC baby :D

Just kidding, it's a pretty common one, but I love it:

its really easy to do.... i pulled them off with my fingers... so nothing could scratch the paint....

doesnt it say v8 on the back.....that emblem looks like it is from the 50's lol

Nope, it doesn't say it on the back. Not on the 2000 model. Just says LS on the taillight.

And the retro styling is what makes me like it. :D

Isn't that from a V8 Explorer, or Expedition? Me wishes I could put one on my car.

See Cams is a 2nd gen and it looks really good without them but that might be cause of the wing and or color but some 2nd gens do look plain with the shape of the lights and surround. IMO the shape of the lights on the trunk and the plate surround on the 2nd Gen makes it look very plain without emblems but I guess in some cases it can be made to look good.

I cant find my close up shot.

cam's probably looks better because of the painted surround...

Well this is my opinion but if you look there is more space between the surround and the lights on the gen 2 where the emblems would be. I would think that the painted surround would make it appear as if there is more space between it yet which creates a very bare effect but you could be correct.

Damn optical illusions!

im not sure if anyone said this idea but i did it witout any heat gun than again it was during summer so a little more heat might help the guys in cold weather but take a piece of fishing line nothing too thick like 5-10 pound test, and wrap around fingers be careful not to take off your digits instead of your badges and slide the fishing line behind emblems theyll pop right off, and if any residue is left behind nothing some goo-b-gone and paper towels wont fix:)

I think they are more for the mechanic to know what he is working on:rolleyes:

NOPE..... Any good mechanic would be able to tell what car he is working of my looking at the vin... :q:q:q:q normally the under hood emissions stick will help alot as well....

oh and i know your joking.

I dont think the LS needs any badging... it looks so much cleaner with out..

Im pretty sure,... giving how so many people here complain about terrible service,... it was a joke;) . Anyway, none of that stopped the mechanic the last time I had it in from putting Mark VIII LS on the work order:lol:

EDIT: Nice editing skills!:p :p
