..luckily I noticed it a couple of weekends ago while at the shop doing the exhaust and balancing the wheels.

Nice for $300+ per tire, right?

Found a semi-used replacement on eBay and just had my friend Frank swap it at his shop.

And here's a crappy BlackBerry pic of the car just outta the car wash for the hell of it :D

That sucks, I just found a screw in one of the CTS-V's tires. $400 tire to replace and no spare in the car. Luckily its a runflat.

Seems like your overpaying for those tires too, but that's your business I guess.

I didn't pay that for that tire. I said I found a semi-used (7/32) tire on eBay. That $300+ was what I found in my short search for new ones. Waste of $$ for wheels that are gonna be off soon.

I know what you said. TireRack has them for $266+$12 shipping.

I wouldn't buy a new one either considering the others are probably worn too. I was just saying that "$300+" for that tire is a lot to pay.

Either way it's not cheap for a tire. I love the Michelin Sport A/S' though. Awesome tire and they look great too. Those and the ContiExtremeContact are my two favorite all seasons.

Good ole Michelin! We see a lot of people running those tires at the dealer I work for. More often than not people end up buying a whole new set of tires because one of them does something like that. Those are great tires as far as wear and grip are concerned, but just like all other Michelins, they always end up cracking. And it tends to be much worse if the alignment is even just slightly off.

$300 per tier is a bit high, just replaced the LS with 4 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 235/50/ZR17 for $762.81 out the door at Sam's Club, included the $80 Michelin rebate off. Sam's beat everyone on price.

Glad you caught it when you did.

I just bought 4 BFGoodrich g-force super sport all season for $136 each. 245-45-17. So far I love them.
I had the g-force kdws before but chewed the inside of the rears to hell due to lowering without alignment (toe way off). Those sidewalls were so stiff the tire machine would stall trying to put them on. They also seemed to have a wider contact patch than the ones i have now. The only reason I went with the super sports was price ($136 vs $150) and a better user rating on tire rack (keeping in mind its opinion based and not actual data).
Performance-wise they are right there with the michelin pilot sport a/s but for a 3/4 the cost. $136 vs $181

I'm happy it didn't grenade on you!

How the hell do you survive potholes anyway in the city? I just blew out a tire the other day in one with a 225/50 tire on a 16" rim. Tires were near new too.

KDW gen 2 are the sickest handling tire ive ever had the oppertunity to drive on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are a max performance max traction tire, what do you expect? They advise not to use them even in cold temperatures.

Had it happen again with another tire!! Oh the joy of having to deal with that sh*t on a cold day before heading to work. I'll get a pic of this one later, but half the tire had a slit in it like above.

Back to rolling on stock rubber. :(

I didn't clean sh*t! I STILL haven't washed it since the picture in my signature...November 8th to be exact! lol

Looks like the start of tread seperation... what's the date on those tires?

I have 30K+ on a set of PS2s---245-45ZR-18s and have about 30% tread left. I've run nothing but Michelins for a number of years and although the pothole situation here in Detroit is not good, no cracks yet. Konis and a set of Pirelli Cinturatos aren't as good as the PS2s by themselves. I do have a set of gizmos that substitute for the stem caps and show green if the pressure is at 35, so I have a constant review of tire pressure. Just keep an eye out for green on each corner.
