Few 4 bangers "romp" the LS without some decent mods. I raced tons of them.


EVOs and STIs yes.
 
race your LS - not off the lights but around the track, once you get better as a driver, you'll find the LS is an EXTREMELY capable car.

It is very well behaved at the edge, meaning your can really stay on it and drive it.
 
The LS is one hell of a well engineered car. The only other American car I can think of as well engineered but still has some muscle is the CTS-V which is why we got it. Unfortunately it's not practical and it's a bit overkill so we are in the process of selling it, but I can honestly say if I ever miss it, the LS will hold me over more than enough. The only other car I'd trade in the LS for right now would be the new TL Type-S if it was RWD.

You can't even compare STIs and WRXs to about any other car on the road since they were originally rally cars. And I don't think anyone buys one of them unless they intend to race. Otherwise a Legacy 2.5 or even an Audi A4 would do. I just wish we got something bigger instead of these tiny 3.9 Jag variants.

Just enjoy your car for what it is. A well rounded, classy, beast. You have a great balance of ride comfort, handling, and power.

How can someone compare an STI or Evo with the LS in power range?

I got my butt slapped so many times thanks to ignorance thinking I would have the same power as top end while taking off... No way! The LS is heavy and will not launch quick, but if you look at some track slips for the LS, the 60 feet numbers suck, but right after that, the LS pulls like a train. It would be great to have 3.73 or even 4.10 on the LS, with the top end power it has, it could easily be a mid 13 or lower car with the 03+ engine ( with those gears and drags) but I know it's not possible. I got the Stang for it's quickness, after the mods, but I respect the LS with it's handling abilities. Like Quik said, don't try the launch race except if you're taking on a stock civic, but from a roll, have fun and surprise a lot of people. I remember with the LS I took on an S2000 from a dig and he pulled about 2 cars on me but I started to catch up and hanged nose to nose all the way up to 140, he kept going, but it tells a lot of the LS performance.

And what do you drive? a discontinued, full of TSB and failures hot rod? You don't even have the LSE package so disgrace your self for stupid comments. The Mustang has history in itself and at least I can mod it to actually be quicker and faster to the point where a stock "SVT" will eat my dust now. I'd like to see the LS do that any day.

So what if it's a luxury sedan. I'd like to see any stock EVO, STI, or SVT keep up with a naturally aspirated E63. And top end I can kill EVO's or STI's but I know I can't from a dig with my CTS-V. My friend's S4 beats me off the line and I have 70 more horse than him but I catch up right away and blow his doors off. On the highway I kill him flat out. Both are your "Luxury Sedans."

The LS might not be the fastest luxury sedan, but it's really a Luxury Sport sedan (so the initials imply) so you can easily see where someone not as familiar with this car, as we humble posters are, might be mislead into thinking its a powerhouse.
 
Just a looser. I just took a look at his pictures, he's even got the ugliest wheels Linc put on the LS. Now that's a disgrace to other LS owners.:D

I am new to the Lincoln, and the LS, and I was just wondering, which wheels are the ugliest Linc ever put on, in your opinion?
 
yeah, cuz my mods are sitting waiting to be put on but whatever, i bought a lincoln because i like luxury sedans, im putting up a point that people that think the LS is fast are rediculous. yeah, its quick, yeah, i love my LS, but don't sit here and talk about how slow it is, WHEN EVERYONE KNOWS how slow it is.

The ugliest by far are the older 5 spoke either chrome or polished, both are aweful, not to mention that type use the sh!tty lugnuts. I think thats what he was referring too. I feel sorry for anyone who has those wheels.

Well not everyone is privy to that info, thats why he started this thread. And I can see how he was fooled since the actual name of the car is luxury SPORT and it was marketed to be a somewhat spirited Luxury Sedan appealing to a younger crowd. And you keep going on how fast STI's and EVO's are and how you'd never desicrate your families name buying non SVT. Well lincolns are ford products that arent svt's by any means.

Hey I wouldn't start firing at him if he didn't come out and start talking about me disgracing my family, WTF? does he know me or my family? NO. People get hurt for saying that kind of stuff... This is only about cars, not family and so on. Think before you talk, NICKANDERSON.

I wouldn't sweat the HP issue at all. I had an 00 LS6 but in 2005 sold it for an 05 G35 6MT. The VQ engine is very tuneable and I did do some work on mine but after the first 6 months of ownership I really started to hate the car becasue it lacked the luxory element the LS has.

So when I wrecked my G a few months back the insurance company totaled much to my delight and I immediately started looking at LS' again... well really I never stopped looking at them after I bought my G.

The LS is a great looking car that doesn't suffer from identity crisis and it comes with some decent get out of its own way power. It is a well equiped car and yes it does possess an uncanny ability to drive you crazy but show me one thing you can get passionate about that won't.

Don't let the brow beaters here or there bust you up. I am sure you will come to find much value in this car and this forum as time passes.

For that money you could of had a nice 2 stage nitrous system with bottle heater and window switch and blown anybody that you wanted away.

That was the dumbest reply ever. I decided, I like my car the way it is as far as speed goes, and I wanted to get the video/navigation goin. Is that a crime? Sorry I'm not a Tokyo Drift reject.

Let's flash back in time (only 7 days ago - based on your latest reply) to when you were dreaming of owning the baddest car on the block.

I suggest you stick with your new plan and put Avic, Kenwood and Pioneer stickers on the front lower quarterpanels. That ought to scare the big dogs away.

I'm fearful a boost of 20 hp might cause you to lose control of the vehicle while you attempt to adjust your subwoofer for maximum boom effect.:D
