Thoughts on Yellow Fogs?????

Yea I would rather just buy some bulbs other than a whole HID kit. Would seem kinda overkill if I could get some similarly white bulbs.

Do you guys know what im talking about the real like white color, not the yellowish of standard headlights in most cars. I'm pretty sure my headlight low beams are the HID though cuz when I turn them on, I can hear like a little 'beeeeeammmm' sound @ the front, also they flicker @ beginning and brighten up really cool-like lol! I just want my fogs to be a matching white.

Any links for the bulbs rollin?

i knew my ears were ringing. 10k hid low beam 4k hid fogs. enjoy

Andrizzle, go to www.lskoncepts.com, and check out the Hoen Xenonmatch bulbs. Those will more closely resemble the stock HID white than the Silverstars.

I say this because I've tried both silverstars and the hoens. I had silverstars first as an upgrade from my standard halogens and loved them. Then I got the Hoen Xenonmatch from another member here. Silverstars lit up the road better, but teh xenonmatch ones will look the most like your stock HID's

Just get a hid kit for the fogs...it will match your factory perfect unlike any look from a halogen bulb plus hid bulbs last way longer than halogen so you should never have to replace the bulb

+1 on the Hoen's. But if they are slightly out of range Nokya makes pretty damn good bulbs.

My silverstars kept blowing within a few months and they tend to color fade very quick and turn back to a more golden bronze like color.

Best bet would be the hid kit because you won't have to replace bulbs every few months when they go out or the coating fades which means the color faded. Don't go imitation hid bulbs, just go the real thing and save you the headache. I have had my hid headlights and foglights for 3 years now with no problem, replacement, or bulb fade; but if you go with the cheap halogen look alikes then you will soon be disappointed

I've never tried the Nokya bulbs. I've been tempted to. But then I went HID. After I make myself some HID shields, I'll be happy.

Okay I been googling some HID fog kits, and they don't seem too expensive considering the 'imitation' bulbs would be about 20-30 a piece anyways.

I'm looking on LSK and I don't see any kits that specify for being for the fogs. Also when I do this, will I be able to move them easily when I get my LSE bumper? Or should I wait to do this once I get the bumper (install easier).

Thanks for the help guys. 'SlickLS' do you have a link for the kit you use on your fogs? Also I am guessing the 6k will match the HID headlights?

My friend owns a company called Lightspeed and thats where I got mine. His name is Hugh and the number is (228) 223-6207. I think 6k should match your factory bulbs, but he will know for sure. Plus his kits come with a warranty on them. I'm glad you finally saw the light and going to go with hid setup in the fogs.

One thing I encourage is to not skimp out on the price of the kits. The cheap kits found for under 100$ are really not worth the headaches. If you can afford the cost of the more expensive kits DO IT!

The halogens that we use and are talking about can be found cheaper then that you just gotta know where to look. Considering the lowest cost compared to the coast and unreliability of the cheap kits trust me its worth it to get the halogens unless again of course you can deal with the price of the better brands.

Another thing I have to point out is that the brands we are talking about do not try to sell wanna be HID's. They simply sell top of the line halogens and make no other false claims.

The stock HID colormatch would be 4300K color. 6000K is more white with a slight blue tint. 4300 is ideal for the most light output. once you move higher in temp (the "bluer" lights") the light output is decreased.

I have 6000K in my low beams/fogs:

Ahhhhh you guys got me torn between the kit or just bulbs... I defintely don't wanna spend more than 100 bucks... So I guess I would get a fail HID kit with that, lol.

Pektal that looks good, see that black LS parked next to yours, that's exactly how my headlights/fogs are. I'm trying to picture your foglights on that black LS - and it looks like your fogs are glowing they are so bright!

iv used hoen and nokya and they both suck, not too bright and both sets died on me. the nokya were warrantied from the guy i got them from on ebay and he replaced them and the new ones died 3 months later. So i got the HIDs and are happy, lows are been pumping for 2 years now. and the fogs going on 11 months. Peace

I am telling you, you WILL be disappointed if you go with halogens. Call my boy, his kits are around $100 with a warranty and like I said I have had mine for 3 years without any problems. You bought a LS so don't put cheap parts on it because like they say,"you get what you pay for." Just make the phone call and he will answer any of your questions.

I have Noyka Hyper Yellow fogs too and i like. With the H.I.Ds it gives the car a newer luxury look. I always get compliments on my lights.

Thanks.

I actually have the smoked head and fog light film from DecalFX.com that's been sitting here the last year. Still on the fence if I wanna bother.

Pics tomorrow after I put them in, in the garage at work. :D

Exact same ones I ordered off ebay. I should have them in the next day or two. If the rain subsides long enough I'll have them and my chrome 3457s in by the weekend. If I don't like them I'll go back to my odiginal plan on 6000K HIDs in the headlights and fogs.

Waiting for the before picture to make it to my email since I took the pics with my BlackBerry. I'll post the pic of the Sylvania Silverstars when it shows up.
