Three reasons to get 410s that out weigh any other reason

back to gears real quick...not that im going to go out and do it right not, but since we are all talkin about it right now...I dont race too much at the strip, but id like to. The 14.9 avg isnt too much to brag about, so i dont race at the strip much, just on the street...not that im condoning it for anybody(just covering my a$$, lol) anyways, i do take LONG freeway trips, and i like to set cruse at 75-90(closer to 90). Im not too concerned with the mpg, but yeah a little, my real concern is....is it healthy to be running the mark at 90 with 410's for about 3 hours at a time? Can it even handle it too much? I do LOVE the idea of low 14's :) . Now, for geno...how much would it be parts and labor and all that jazz for you to put that in my car, if you do that, or if you trust someone else with that job, whats the estimate for them.

I used to when I had my old mark w/o gears be doing 90+ mph on the hwy. yea it was cool to be going that fast cause the mark can but do you really need to be going that fast? hell even with 4.10's you can can go just as fast but you won't want too all the time. every car is probally different but in mine at a little over 80mph maybe like 83-84... your crusing at 3 grand... so you stay at around 75-80 you should be fine. I am sure the engine can handle that rpm for long distances.. I know mine as well as others have been fine.

edit: I know you say the mpg doesn't matter but just to put this in, I have never ever gotten over 25mpg in either of my marks 1 with 3.07's and 1 with 4.10's and I keep them tuned up and well maintained. like if I hit the reset button it resets to like 30-31 mpg but that quickly drops down, way down. I don't know how ppl say they get over 26mpg

i certantly get 29-31 mpg on the highway. but, to answer your question....do i NEED to go that fast...no, but it sure is fun! Na, i just like to take a 150 mile trip and drop it down to an hour and a half instead of 3 like it would take if i did the speed limit, and drove like my grandma does.

another 3 questions....
1. How far off is the speedo at 65
2. what rpms are you running at actual 65?
3. This last one is to geno...can you recalibrate my speedo so im not off?

With 4.10s in OD, 66mph = 2500 rpm with 245/50-16 tires.

My 'cruising' speed is normally 75 mph which is like 2800 rpms. No problems with 4.10s here. :L

geno what do you think I will run with the 75 shot or the 100 shot

now that sounds like what i need! 2800 doesnt bother me at 75. I think i can cut back from 90, lol.

Now, new questions...
1. Do i need a new pumpkin for the 4.10's, or can i use the one thats stock?
2. If i do need to change the pumpkin, do i need to get a diffrent DS?
3. What kind of money are we talking about total, including install (directed to geno for this one)...any discount for doing the tranny at the same time too, eh? eh? eh?

At 75 mph on an hour drive I will taper down to 25.9. At 65 I get 26.8.
