i keep reading on here that the lincoln mark viii front suspension parts are the same as the thunderbird front end parts? is that including the tie rods? i called oriellys today and had them look up outer tierods for my 97 drivers side and also the thunderbird 97 tie rod the price was $20 different but the part numbers were also different.

OK im confused i take it you mean their the same? and what is scp? i can not get the search to work on here at all, i tried posts ,threads ,advanced ,it will not show me any results for anything i search for!

I use Rockauto.com and their online Catalog to cross-reference part numbers.

Looks like the inners are the same, outers have different part numbers. At least you know one end of the outer has to work (to thread onto the inner), I can't see how much difference there could be in the 'ball joint' side of the outer tie rod to the spindle.

i went to to oriellys this morning because my parts were in . i ordered outer tie rods for the Lincoln and the Thunderbird . the manager told me they had to be different because the part numbers were different and that they wouldnt price gouge like that. so when got there , he took both parts out of the boxes and could not tell me the difference in either part! same numbers stamped on part for that matter! he just looked dumbfounded and then asked me which one i wanted! gee i think i will take the one thats $20 more dumbass!
went on just fine front is great again now just need togetthe stupid miss ,chugging taken care of !
