yea try pushing up and moving switch up and than move it down..
(this ussually works for a little while) if thats not the case its an easy 30 dollar fix if u got a steering wheel puller.. check tech articles on here on how to do it..
Faulty part is the Potentiometer F7LZ-14A605-AA $22.50
I just did mine a few months ago. Live with it till you can stand it anymore. It is full Saturday repair.
Don't bang on the steering wheel or force too hard as all that holds it together are a couple little plastic balls. If they break off comes the steering wheel in your hands.
See the Tech section they have a write up on the repair.
The protentiometer is a easy fix.... The unit does have a little plactic hook on them that is most likely broken off and that would keep it from working.
If that don't work then you mite have a far more difficult problem that would require the removel of the column to correct it. Their are two motors at the lower end of the steering column (one for the tilt and the other for the telescopic). If one of them was bound-up for some reason then you mite need to open up the column to correct it. My Gen 2 steering column did come apart into two parts (one upper and one lower) with some ball bearings and long bearing races falling out of it. The kicker was my local dealer told me that they never had been into such a steering column like that before and that I had to replace the steering column to fix it. You know the easy way out! So I really didn't want them to work on my car anyway so I took it apart myself and rebuilt it. It turns out that the Marks has had a service recall to install some safety strapes on the column to help prevent the steering columns from being able to come apart as mine had. If it is a dealer issue then good luck and hold onto your check book.
