'00 Lincoln LS8 Sport 86,000 miles $8800.00 + $650 to ship to my door from a different state.

I haven't driven it or seen it in person as it is too far away, but saw many pictures that look very nice. It is Charcoal Gray (sorry don't remember the official name).

We want to get rid of my wife's Intrigue and she does not want an SUV and loves my LS. I only got to drive my LS for about a month, so I am not over it. I plan on giving her mine and maybe picking this one up.

Just looking for some opinions. There may be a wheel bearing or other issue in the rear also.

It has all the options.

I think it is priced right and would likely move on it if it were a local car. I have some reservations about buying it site unseen. Maybe run it through carfax.

It is a risk buying something unseen! The other problem is, I want something very reliable and I don't know the LS enough yet to know how reliable they are. My wife's second choice would be a 2001 Nissan Maxima. It's funny as I don't see many LSs on the road, but every time I go to a Ford dealer there are at least two in the shop. A friend of mine pointed that out to me. :)

I drove my current LS 3 different times before I decided. Of course, I decided I really like it. I have been working on it a lot though. I was 80% sure that the things I had to do on it I was going to have to do anyway.

I was about to ask where this car was located in Knoxville because I was going to go buy it. Where is the car located? I mean if it's just a small car ride away I'd suggest just going there and checking it out. If not, then I don't know what to tell you.

I've have several friends buy cars sight unseen from places like eBay and they've had good results. However, I've heard of some horror stories though.

It is in Maine! :(

Yikes! I have seen a lot on the road and plenty in the shop everytime I go in but I see a lot of other cars in there too. I hit the Altima forum at edmunds and found people stark raving mad at nissan and the dealer but my wifes has been a terrific car.

With it being in Maine you got two chances you are making; intergrity of the car and intergrity of the deal. If you can take a few measure sto mitigate the risk I would say jump on it.

Personally, I say hunt for a V6 with a Manual as you will certianly save yourself a lot of tranny woes. Plus stick shifting just plain rules IMHO.
