I wasn't sure where to post this, but this looked like the section with the most recent activity and most likely to be seen the soonest.

Rather than go into it here, I'll just give you the link to the post I made in your For Sale section which should explain everything.

http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=42597

I hope this keeps someone else from possibly being ripped off.

Sorry, I reported the post and apparently the mods removed it, but I've PM'd them asking that they revive it if at all possible, as several sites have links to the items he's listed for sale on your site and this information is being given to the authorities in an effort to shut this guy down. These posts which list the same name and phone number he's used on other sites may be important, and if removed, there will be no record of them.

He's (allegedly) been confirmed to have ripped off members of BMW, Mercedes and Audi forums for thousands of $ and has also been selling on ebay and craigslist giving his location as New York, Boston, Virginia Beach and Tampa, but using the same phone number and name.

If you'd like more info, please visit these links which is what I provided in the now deleted links.

Scam Alert - MBWorld (now up to 148 pages with info on the guy).

More info on the Nike Talk Forum where he is a member (currently 19 pages).

Neither of the threads that are linked to here (in the third link above) work. What was his name here?

Yes, unfortunately your mods deleted the threads when I reported them even though I asked them to just lock them instead of delete them. Once they deleted the first one, I asked that they please revive it (which I know can be done) and to please NOT delete the second one, but a few minutes later it was gone too.

Anyway, he went by "1 Sic LS" here and the ads were identical to the ads on the toyota-supra forum in the link you reference using a similar name starting with "1 Sic" but listing a different location. I found the cache page for the Macbook ad he had here, but the one for the wheels no longer works. This may not for long either, but here it is. http://209.85.141.104/search?q=cach...07&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=18&gl=us&client=firefox-a

I registered and posted here when I noticed he bumped a thread this morning that he had here selling wheels and one of your members posted back showing interest by asking for pics. I didn't want one of your members to be another victim. I'm from Bimmerfest and many auto sites are working together on this to put the info together to stop this guy who has been at this for quite a while and hoped your mods would join in the effort by at least leaving the posts up (but locked) with a warning. :(

Thanks for sharing the info! Im always suspicious of new guys selling stuff. Hopefully this criminal gets caught soon!

Good lookin' out, man. Welcome to here!

Thank you guys, and you're welcome. :) Catchy screen name I created for this site, don't you think? ;) Thought it would attract the most attention the soonest.

Nice to see the auto forum communities pulling together on this. If any of the veterans on this board have any clout with the mods, see if you can get them to revive the threads and lock them banning the OP. I think it's better to have them up so people can see them, as this guy keeps coming back under different screen names with different internet IP address.

It's been verified he works at an Apple store in Boston and he's posted ads selling Apple computers (as he did here on your site) and Ipods. I wonder where he got those to sell? :shifty: He also had a couple of bogus headlight companies, so watch out for those along with wheels/rims where he steals the pics off sites and then posts them for sale on other sites, then sends out bogus tracking numbers to the buyers, claims the items were lost by the shipper and tells the buyer to deal with the shipper - which everyone knows is not how it works. The shipper is the customer of the shipping company and is the only one authorized to submit a claim. He even listed a Jaguar for sale on our site a few months ago for $20,xxx. The thread was identified as a scam and locked, but who who knows how much he's taken in doing this.

So keep an eye out.

I wonder if it's RBones - user that used to post here with an LS that apparently scammed a lot of people on other sites...

I deleted them. And, once deleted, they cannot be revived. Regardless, I saw no reason to keep them alive. Thanks for catching it.

On other vbulletin boards they are sometimes able to revive info that is saved on their servers. Perhaps your site is not set up to do so, but the ads he posted on your site were some of the only ones where he posted his phone number . . . which would help confirm his identity. That's why I suggested that you not delete them when I reported them, but I appreciate your responding.

Wow, very interesting. Out of 148 pages on MBWorld of info on said scammer, no one came up with this possible connection. If it's not the same guy, he's almost a carbon copy. These scams under Rbones are also the earliest ones found and if it is the same guy, it shows he's been at it for at least 3 years.

- Young kid from Boston.
- Has a thing for Mercedes (caught lying about getting one by your members).
- Rbones registered on Benzworld.com
- Rbones registered on Macrumors.com, scammed members there. (Apple connection again)
- Rbones registered on skater site (skateperception.com), from Boston, scams several people on Apple Ipods, computer and camera equipment.
- Disappears and re-registers as Startfromscratch and scams many more people. (Looks like he was arrested at one point.)

Thanks for bringing this up. It may be a missing piece of the puzzle since people ran into a dead end trying to get personal info on the main scammer and started pursuing info on his friend who has been confirmed to work at an Apple store in Boston and whose ebay account he's been using. Whether it pans out or not, we'll see, but it can't hurt. :)

Not a problem. Sounded far too similar to not mention it. I believe if you Google "rbones" you'll find some interesting reading, even some on here. :D

How do you think I found the info above? ;) That's just a summary of much more detailed info I found on Rbones including his name and address which were posted by victims. It appears he was even arrested at one point. I sent all the info over to the guys on MBWorld who are compiling it. Thanks again.
