Trade LS for a 95 Vette?

Its cool. Yea we like what we like. In fact id rather have a v6 5 speed ls over the v8 just for the fact im not an auto fan, and im not using it for power, just a daily. Or just swap shifters to make it autostick.

Yeah the auto has a weird feel to it...shifts better at wot than at any other time.

i agree with most of what you say. I have a mark viii and it is no longer luxury LOL just power. I love cruising with the sunroof open, windows down. exhaust screaming setting off car alarms. that sir is music to my ears.

I do this whenever I don't feel like listening to my system.
 
My exhausts are usually so loud you would never hear the stereo anyway. yes...im THAT guy lol. and i do have two kicker l7 12s but not going in my LS. IM also a metal freak. no rap crap or country here.
 
I'm not sure the C4 owners should be taking crap from people who have an LS. I own both, and the LS is among the most unassuming luxury cars I have seen. You could drive almost anywhere and no one would notice it. It would make a great get-away car. That's just fine with me, but I'm just sayin....

You compare the C4 to any other care of it's generation (84-96) and it is a truly sexy car. Mustangs, camaro's, 280's, etc from the same model years all have a very old look. There is nothing about the C4 that dates it into the 80's, other than the fact that you all recognize them. The C4 was a revolutionary change from the C3. Handling and power (especially as the model progressed) were both better than almost any other car at the time. Even today, my 91 corvette goes 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds. By any standard, that's impressive.

The comfort level also improved over the years. the early C4s has a pretty rough ride, but by the late 80's and early 90's, the ride got much better, and if you are careful with the gas, it is a very comfortable car. Take the roof of on a nice day, and I'm not sure a car can provide more fun.

That being said, if you are patient, you can get a nice low milage 95 corvette for abotu $12000, C4s are the lowest valued corvettes. There were 200-300 thousand of them made (I think), and they are not old enough to be classics. It will probably take another 10 years for them to start increasing in value. Because of the high number of them, a significant value increase may never occur. The best C4s are the 92-96 model years. They have much better engines, and starting in 1990, the interior was upgraded. Prior to 1990, the interior had an 80s look with too much digital stuff.

the only LT1 car that i have ever enjoyed driving was a fiero GT, and i would take any fiero over every C4 (including zr1)

nothing says quality car, like a $40k+ car that has the exact same cheap plastic knobs everywhere and radio system that is standard in a $13k caviler!

an LS would have to be pretty baddly f'ed up for it to be a fair even trade.

i would say if you really want a C4, save up the $1000 and go and buy one, but if you really dislike your LS that much, then go for it!






driving any corvette with an auto trans is like competing in the Special Olympics, even if you win...
 
Unless the Fiero was custom, they only came with a 2.8L v6. I'm not even sure how you could get a v8 to fit in a fiero, and still get power to the back wheels.

Almost any late model corvette, in good condition is worth more than an LS in similar condition.

I never drive the LS in the summer. When you look at each of them in the garage, and you have your choice, the decision is easy. Raw power and fantastic handling win every time. The wife gets the LS.
 
$1000 for a lt1 c4 Vette?? lmao you cant pick up one around here under $6000. a LT1 Fiero? now id like to see that. And the Vette shines is in power and suspension. Were it counts. I have had both lt1 qand ls1 cars. like i said before lt1 beats ls1 in the low end but ls1 can catch up and has better top end. I am not or ever will be a ls1 fan. You cant even pick up a decent lt1 f body under 3000. I mean decent as clean and not torn the hell up.

There is nothing about the C4 that dates it into the 80's,
except for the flip up headlights, nothing screams 80's like flip up headlights. good thing they got rid of that for the newer... oh wait, vettes still had flip up headlights well into the 21 century.

well push rod 350's are in no means, big motors, now the fiero with the 4.6 northstar was a thing of amazement. and all of the weight over the drive wheels do nicely. however, i would not recommend using the first couple of gears.

unfortunately, they are littered around here like crazy. most look like crap but run great or look great and dont run at all. because of every body buying the busted ones up and fixing them for cheap, the decent ones cant sell for too much. ive seen many clean nice C4's been had for less than $5k

you havent? ive seen more than a few. its pretty popular for kit car builders. buy a fiero, buy a LT1 out of a junk yard, then buy a body kit and you have a pretty damn fast fauxarri for 6-10K na dat that price, you can actually go out and drive it a lot harder than you would if it was a real exotic.

Not in 300 miles from here you will find a c4 lt1 under 6 that is in decent shape. and iv been wrenching on lt1 since 94. I love em. gotta like the lt1 in feiro but to small a car for me. had a late model gt back in HS. Imagine swapping the opti in that lmao
 
The interiors on GM cars are what gets me.

Especially the corvette....for being such an expensive car the interiors look like complete :q:q:q:q.

Cant even touch the interior on the LS.

Even a $90K ZR1 has those nasty plastic buttons and trim that belong on sub $20K vehicles. The Pontiac interiors completely crap on them. But wait those were made by the aussies.
 
I gotta agree on Vette int. The interior on my SS looks wayyy better than any c4 I dont get that part, but hell just have one seat in it ill be happy. Care less about the interior when im looking at things go by at 150mph.
 
Personally I wouldn't be interested at all but I think you should go for it. The LS obviously isn't your cup of tea and the corvette seems like an exciting conquest for you. You're obviously going to get skewed results asking about this on a LS enthusiast board so go for whatever makes you happy.
