tonight on my way home from work, every single time i came to a complete stop, and go to take off again, my car feels like it is slipping in first gear but once i get to about 2000 rpm its shifts normally into 2nd, which is firm in my car. it feels like i put a 3500 stall in the car, it drove to work perfect this morning, but it was pouring really hard on the way to work, could water be the cause maybe? maybe something got wet that didnt like getting wet? i am gonna check my fluid level after dinner, but i just did recently and it was fine. if the fluid is fine i will see what happens on the way to work tomorrow, i hope its just something due to the heavy rain.

Did you just replace the fluid/filter or was that the other one?

i had a similar problem, the trans went out soon after.
but i lost 2nd as well. doesn't seem to be true in your case.

my fluid level is dead nuts perfect and nice and pink and smells fine too, no burnt smell at all, i am thinking its related to driving in the water this morning. because i have had absolutely zero problems with my trans until today, and i dont drive the car in heavy rain, today was the first time i ever drove it in such a bad downpour. i'll see what happens on the way to work tomorrow, and if it keeps up i will have to drop the pan and possibly replace the 1-2 shift solenoid.

Sounds like the trans pump is failing or the TC is failing but pump is more likely.

Have you put the selector in first and seen if it still feels like its slipping?

I noticed something wasn't right with your 1st gear in the 0-60 video but I figured it was the tune. I still think something is going on with that tune. Has anything else been changed that wouldn't agree with the Sniper tune? Just throwing some ideas out there and it does kinda sound like what Bill said.

I forgot about the Sniper! If the Sniper is set to max shift firmness then its too much pressure for the Marks system and will cause slipping under partial throttle. I delt with that issue on my 97 LSC.

My vic did the exact same thing right before the trans went out... sorry man, Id be planning for the worst.

when i manually put it in first it drives away normally, and terry in that video my first gear didnt do anything remotely close to what it did on my way home tonight, this started tonight, its never done this before and never had a problem until tonight.

Broken spring? Saw a grand marq lose first have to spank on it to get it to move pulled valve body found broken spring and plunger was tipped sideways

i didnt lose first i still have it it just takes off funny, i still think it has something to do with water. i'm gonna go take it for a ride right now, i'll take the camera with me.

well i take back what i said about manually putting it in first, if i do that, it still sucks. it almost feels like its taking off in 2nd, until it actually shifts into second and snaps your neck, i dont know :q:q:q:q about tranny's, but the way it feels when i drive it i would have to say the trans is garbage. i dont get how the hell this just randomly happend while the car sat in the parking lot at work all day, makes no sense.

i am uploading a video, but honestly its gonna near impossible for anyone to tell in the video, you have to ride in the car to feel it, because in the video it sounds like it takes off normal in 1st, but if you could feel the car in first, it only sounds like its taking off normally, but it takes off slowly until it slams into second then it does take off, other than 1st the car still drives like it always has, only 1st is screwed.

when i leave the house i turn the corner and stop, the second time i turn another corner and stop again, watch the tach on the second stop, its slipping the whole time and you can see it shift into second right around 2100 rpm you see the tach jump once it shifts into 2nd.

i'm dropping it off tomorrow at curtis transmission, they are the only ones in this area i trust, the owner joe is cool as hell. they service our work trucks and the trans shop is like 50 years old. i'll have him see whats wrong with it, then maybe fix it myself or have them do it, i dont have time for this bull:q:q:q:q right now. i'm not laying on my back to take the pos out no thanks. i'm too burnt out for this kind of crap now.

time to get a daily driver.

They arent too terribly exciting, but I'm probably going to get a 2000ish Ford Taurus for a DD soon. 4 doors and easy as he'll to maintain. My car is going to be off DD duty soon.
