Trans help

ratdog you have got to be one of the dumbest people on here. you have no idea what is done to my 14 year old car, what is mantained, what i do to the car on a daily basis lol. you really need to keep your hands in your pockets sometimes. first off, the car has 170k on it, i have no idea if the trans has ever been gone through, since the entire motor was, i would have to say chances are it has been, secondly since i dont know the history, i took it upon myself to j-mod it, change the filter and 1-2 accumulator and springs and filled it with royal purple merc 5 just for peace of mind. i daily drive my car a total of 7 miles a day, even a tubbed out prostreet big block car could easily perform this task daily. i work 1 town away from my house it has nothing to do with the car being modded and driven daily. there are cars that sell brand new on dealer lots that are highly modded from the factory and can easily be driven daily. the other thing is you telling me about priorities over more inmportant things, are you serious? should i just randomly pull my trans out whenever and rebuild it just so i can say i took care of priorities? there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car until i got in it to leave work, i drove through a very heavy rain storm on my way to work and i was sure the trans problem was water related, turns out it wasnt, why it happened the way it did is unknown, but dont sit here and tell me that i dont take care of my cars except to make them flashier, you dont have a clue who i am or what my cars perform like, i take care of my cars better than 3/4 of the cars on here because i have an obsession, anyone who knows me personally on here can tell you my habbits and work ethic on these cars, you open your mouth and talk :q:q:q:q when you dont have a clue what you are talking about.

My vic did the exact same thing, if you get it moving it will hit second and drive fine... seriously STFU.

Jamie is a grown man and he can do whatever he want to his automobile. Looks like to me he was asking for help with his transmission not about what he put on his car. His problem sound like mine and I am very interested about what the final solution. So can we get back to what this forum is about.

So I know I'm a little late to the party here but based on ratturds theory my moded 95 got totaled because I used it for my DD. If this is true should we all just park our cars all together and go buy a donkey to get to and from work? I used to work for Saturn and part of our job as a line tech was to make sure the cars were in good order before going to the sales floor. I can't remember how many came from the factory with 0 miles and had a bad trans or I even had to change a few motors that were bad with 0 miles on them. So just listen to everyone else and stay out if it. Better yet go dig a huge hole climb in it and have someone back fill.
 
didn't the early 2000's F series have our transmissions in them and you could get 4.10's in them as an option and they had the 5.4l in them, I would think that should show that it can handle the power.

Junk yard transmissions......its a gamble, but what us poor folks are stuck with.

Im sure the 4.10s I installed is the root of the problem.... because Calvin says so.

I have a junkyard 97 trans that had 72k on it when installed and now my car has 4.10's, 3000 stall, and a supercharger and there not one thing wrong with it.
 
That's cool.
I had a junkyard trans delivered to my shop that had "20k" on it.
Who knows if its good, we will see I guess some poor fuk is installing it.
 
yeah derek's junkyard engine had 80k on it and look where that pos got me, almost in court lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+1... lol
At 78k I had to rebuild the entire front end of my Excursion end to end.. and I maintained it with every oil change, 35k later the auto hubs are FUBAR because of the salt.
Now for the Mark, I snapped this picture this morning, Doomsday must be near! guess I should park it or rebuild the entire thing.

The strange part to me is I thought a Jmod and gears would both help extend the life of a transmission. I understand the part about just worrying about the appearance and not that I think Jamie ever dose this. But when I was a teenager and working on one of my first cars. I was cleaning and painting under the hood to make it pretty and my father walked by and says "It won't make it run any better". Two days later the engine blew up. I think thats the definition of irony.
