Trunk Emblems

Put a better picture up in the first place and you won't get opinions that anger you Geno.

Who is angry?
He actually asked "What's the difference, except the colors?"
Obviously there were many more then the color.
So I made a counter point showing the differences between the two.

I just do no like when people say I said something that I didn't.
Also what is wrong with this picture? I do not quite understand.

You made many counter points to be correct and that may have came across as angry. Can't say I read the thread that turborich mentioned you commented on. But the pic is pretty bad the edge doesn't look right, can't say if its the angle or what. There does appear to be a bubble or blem of some sort in the pics. The car is frickin dirty, wipe the dang area off for the pic at least...you do want to sell them.

As far as words being misread, I couldn't agree more.

For me defending myself and my product by counterpointing things that were made towards the product and it's integrity is construed as angry?

I took that on my buddy Jim's car today. He had already installed it.
His chrome is a little older looking. Yes it was dirty but it is just a simple quickie shot to get them out there.

It also depends greatly on the condition of your existing plastic. If it is ridged, chipped or
"out" of the chrome this will reflect through the vinyl. Heres a shot of a MINT flawles version installed. Looks dead mint brand new perfect.

As soon as I get the first 50 of these this Friday I will take a shot of it on my car. His plastic section of the factory cover is "up" or slightly out of the chrome bezel it resides in giving it a "high side" look.

#1.. stop calling my car dirty.. it is dirty i know.. jeez.. don't hurt it's feelings..
#2.. Don't blame Geno for my bad installation.. my plastic piece is chipped BAD so it bubbled up on the right side..
#3.. we are trying to help YOU out !..

plus.. to the guy who has no plastic piece.. if you clean out the area nice and neat.. it should fit nice and neat it its place.. please tell us first if you ARE missing the plastic piece

Your right Jim, you can get that area real clean and then get the vynil all in there real nice and flat. It would take a little labor but it would work. That would be recessed real coll, a very differnt look as well.

So, the cobra-star is reflective, like a chrome inlay?

Is there one available with a reflective background too?

They are both available in reflective anything. The CobraStar or the background. You can mix and match pretty much anything.

Yes my plastic is completely gone. All that is there is the metal piece that swivels to reveal the lock. There is a little bit of leftover material, and you can kinda see where the Lincoln emblem was. It would be pretty easy to clean that up. There is one bubble in the metal on the right that would probably show. Plus there is a hole in the middle. There must have been a tab or something on the back of the plastic piece. I'll think about just recessing it in there. I think you're right, it may look pretty slick.

Yes I see how yours has been cut with more detail, It only took 5 minutes for mine to be made though. I'm sure I could do a better job though. There are bubbles in the black vinyl on yours. Probally just the installation.

Oh and my bad, you didn't say it looked crapy, you said cheesy. Well is there that much difference. After all you charge $20 bucks. I had mine made in 5 minutes for $6 bucks. I'm sure I could make the same as yours for $6 bucks too. At any rate I am going to design my own unique emblem, Something that will be unique to my car.

That is our copyrighted company logo and cannot be reproduced for sale period!

I said earlier in this thread we will have a test version made this weekend and will be ready ship next week in CHROME and it will not look cheesy like the one pictured, that one doesn't even have the star seperated from the Cobra, it's all just run together and looks cheap.

you could always go get a piece of thin plastic from a sign shop or home depot and cut it to fit into the lock cover.. that would bring it out a little plus give you a smooth surface to apply it on

Yeah, maybe I could make a template and take it somewhere and have em trim me up a piece. Good idea. I may give it a try. Anyone know a good place to do this? I don't know if Home Depot would do it.

I refinished mine without knowing about the cobrastar cover. The red on mine was also totally peeled and crappy looking. I scraped off the remaining color on the back with a razor, leaving the recessed chome star alone. Then, I first applied Testor's candyapple red transluscent and then metallic silver (rattle can). I think it came out pretty good.

Yeah, I need a new trunk emblem for myself. The Lincoln center symbol fell off! Damn!
