tune up time

The fact of switching to full synthetic oil and then never being able to switch back to regular blend oils is a MYTH and is FALSE.
(at least so the producers claim)

the question of; "which type of oil is the oil that once you put in you need to keep putting in"

the answer would be, ANY OIL ! ... motors need oil for proper lubrication of moving parts.

Now, your more specifics would be, what type of oil is recommended and what brand do you believe in.

Up to you of course. Many have tried several brands, semi or full synthetic or even regular blends.

Some say don't use this, some say only use that, fact it there are some better brands then others.

I, personally, myself have switch to Royal Purple SAE 5W20 Synthetic Engine Oil and
the first thing I noticed when I drove it was the slight ticking was gone and it runs rather smoother in general.

Good luck !

55$, what a joke, I (over)paid $400+ for 8 of my DG529's then picked up some new Visteons for $200.

Why don't you get the OEM or Visteon's for your V6, the Visteon's should be plentiful for the V6 if I remember correctly.

cant find em on ebay:(
can you send me a link where to buy em from?

If I'm not mistaken, you need the VISTEON 60-1004 for your V6 (double check me)
and the link below shows an eBay listing per unit for US $17.97 free shipping.
That's total $107.82 for six of the good COPs (did I just say that?)

Surely you and your Pops can skim a bit from the beer fund to put some better COPs (did I just say that again?) in the LS of yours.

It's just that on the V6 it's a bit more intense to change out the coils, so why put garbage in when you can get the nice Visteon's instead and be done with it.

Up to you of course.

double checked.

The V6 and V8 coils do not swap.

If you have a V6, then you need six of the 60-1004
If you have a V8, then you need eight of the 60-1008

+1 Hahaha,

That's exactly the same reply some time ago, we got from joegr, I was thinking of
and I went by it myself, copied down in my notes here somewhere even.

that joegr !

Thank you guys:) my cars going to running like a charm
with these vistoens on along with some ngk iridum lx plugs cant wait
. Im going withwhatever the mechanic gives me on oil so it should be good:)

We like to refer to it as "it's running like a champ" or "like a raped gorilla"
"charm" is something you get out of a cereal box.

and oil is oil, the most important thing is to do frequent oil changes.
couple of ounces of Lucas Oil treatment wouldn't hurt the top end any.

PS: on the coils, be sure to snap the connection in tight, until you hear/feel the click.

Good luck !

oh and ... throw in a new air filter in the intake and it wouldn't hurt to gently clean the MAF sensor.

little something, something in the tank to clean out the injectors, she be HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!

You don't have to put any or even the Lucas for that matter, ( I use STP sometimes )
just something I do at least twice a year to keep the internals & injectors clean.

Usually it's a small bottle, available at auto stores, one bottle per one full tank of fuel.
Just read the small print on the bottle.

Not everyone appreciates it but I like to use the fuel additive products.

MAF = Mass Airflow Sensor, it's very delicate to clean and requires the correct cleaning solvent,
easily damaged as well. read up on it before attempting.

Check youTube for "maf sensor cleaning"
