As I am new to the lincoln ls world, I am just wondering when you talk about tuning your cars does that mean or include re flashing the computer chip? I have a 2001 V8 can I get this done by a local mechanic? Please have patience with my newbe questions.......Thanks.

Total newb! :p

No, Torrie from Fast Ford Parts (I believe) will sell you a tuner with the tunes already on it. All you have to do is put it into the OBDII port and follow the on-screen directions.. You can do it yourself..

That's what we're here for.. :p

You could have searched though.. I know there are a lot of threads on it because I had to look up his name a week or so ago..

I search for sct before I got mine to find out more about it but the thread quick posted didn't come up since the title says speed chip.

got my tune done today and i couldn't be happier!!! and i've only tried one tune so far.

did you get the torrie tune? and how much? and how long did it take in the mail? thanks

I have torries tune(s)

-3 tunes, $150.
-Speed is rather dependent on the network it is routed through. IIRC mine only took a couple seconds to be delivered

Yes, a starting point, he adjust them to fit your individual needs. I have CAI, live at 4,300 ft above sea level and mostly 91 octane gas in my area.

yes torrie tune. I paid $379 plus expedited shipping, i got it next day in the mail :D

On a side note, I had a good experience buying from Torrie. He responded within minutes to all my e-mails, good business person

are the tunes already pre-made?

I don't know if you buy from other suppliers but if you buy the Xcal tuner from Torrie it'll come preloaded with 3 tunes specifically for the LS(and maybe other ford vehicles too)

i don't really have any performance mods, but i'll eventually have and x-pipe and flowmaster, would he need to know that or no?

I currently have a resonator delete and Magnaflow mufflers. I did mention to him that i intended to add an x-pipe and a K&N 57 series CAI, in the near future, and he said i would be fine, no need to modify the tunes.

You should probably still mention it to him tho.
