Anybody know off the top of your head which wire is the parking and which is the turn on an 02 LS?

I can look it up later.
Front or back?
Left or right?
Where at (must not be by the lights, because you could easily trace it there)?

I assume that you want the negative (trigger) wire, and not the positive (constant power) wire?

I can use a meter to test it at the light... was just seeing if anyone knew the wire colors without having to go test them... i'm trying to install led switchbacks into the front turn signals and have to wire the resistor to the ground and the turn wire...

Awesome... Thanks!!! Trying to take apart my headlights now to install tinted lenses and angel eyes... seems my 02 has the black sealant... yay...

Be warned that most of those LEDs are setup for constant ground with switch powers. The LS is constant power with switched grounds. If you wire a resistor to the actual (non-switched) ground, then it's not going to work the way you want it to.

Thanks for the heads up joegr... i'll play around with it and see if I can get it working the way I want...

Anybody have any tips for separating an 02 headlight housing with the black sealant? Am I going to have to cut it? The oven method doesn't seem to be working since it's high heat sealant...

Alax7 has a vid on YouTube showing how he cut apart a gen 2 light with black sealant. IIRC thats what you need to do for the gen 1 with black sealant.

Thanks Hite... yeah i've watched that video before... just got done cutting the first headlight... starting to pry it apart now...

GL... keep a detailed log on the switchbacks just in case you can get them to work..

Wow what a pain in the ass... finally got it cut and separated...

But its all worth it for the tinted clear turns...

G-RELL if I can get them working I will do a write up on how I did it. I really hope I can bc I have always loved the switchbacks... but if it wont work my wife wants them on her car... lol

NICE!!! :Beer

we have (Hite and i) sets waiting to install... He's tried a few times without much luck IIRC... Dont think it can be done without relays and perfectly set resistors.

With everything going on lately, the LS mods are on hold. I do have several switchbacks but as GRELL said....not much luck.

Well not much luck here either... the problem isn't the ground... I got it to work but with only 1 color... the issue is the socket... The switchbacks I got for example have the 2 positives on 1 side and the 2 negatives on the other side of the bulb... where the socket has a positive a negative on each side... It got dark and cold outside and I can only pull the nose of the car in the garage so I called it a night... going to work on it again in the morning... I did get the led rings installed in the headlights and am just going to let the silicone cure overnight... turned out pretty good... I had a hard time hiding the wires to these rings though.. After I did the passenger side I tried the drivers side a little different and it worked better... Anyway... Thanks for the help today... If I get the switchbacks working i'll let you guys know... if not in the wifes car they go... if her socket is the right way for them... lol...

Actually i dunno... it probably would take a relay to make it work... even if I did get a new socket that had 1 ground and 2 positives it wouldn't wire up right to the car.... unless i reversed the polarity... hooked the positive from the car to the negative wire on the new socket.. not sure. have to play with it.. are all the 3157 sockets like this on the LS where it has 1 constant positive and then the other 2 wires are negative triggers?

Socket i'm looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/X2-3157-LED...l-light-plug-harness-wire-bulbs-/331167791440

Actually, it would take two relays and two resistors to make it work (per side, four total). I would also throw in two diodes to protect the FEM electronics from the inductive kickback of the relays.

Awesome... well maybe ill just stick with a regular bulb for the turns for now... I didnt think the switchbacks would be this complicated when I ordered them... hopefully they will work on the wifes car.

ok so I am putting the headlights back in now... now having an issue with the angel eye wiring... drilled a new ground into the body and wired the negative to that and for the positive to the orange/blue wire for the parking lights since it is always on when the car is running... worked great except a slight flicker when the turn signal is in use but it is barely noticable... turned off the turn signal and the parking lights and then turned the car off but the halos stayed on??? why is that wire getting power when the car is off? Any help or idea where I could get the 12v always on from other than the parking / turn light?

its a 12v constant source... the negative side controls the signal... you need to use the harness ground

I thought about doing that but I want the angel eyes on anytime the car is running not just with the parking lights...

Is one of the unused pins in the fuse box on the passenger side unused that is a constant 12v? Edit: Not constant but on when the car is on...

not sure... but if your going inside you can just do to the ignition... then you can run a toggle, just in case you DO want to shut them off...

Thats what I did. Angels on when the key is on. Toggle to shut them off when the key is on. All you have to do is run a 12v switched source to the toggle then to the angels. Ground to body. Done

Yep, wired like that they will stay on until the car sleeps. (It will sleep about 30 minutes after the last time you opened/closed a door or just about anything else that the car can sense, with the key off.)

Ok got the dash taken apart. Remember which wire color you wired to?
