turning radius

Just turn the pinion shaft of the rack (where you connect the rag joint).

Turn it lock to lock and count the revolutions.

Do the same on your car using the steering wheel with the original rack, or do it with the rack out as stated above.

What's this rumor that the 93 is the only year with the quicker ratio?
Just that, a rumor, it's an all Gen 1's feature.;)

lol i love when people make :q:q:q:q up. the 93 rack is the exact same rack thats in 94, 95, and oh yeah, 96 too. 97 and 98 have a diff rack, it has to make more revolutions to turn the same amount as a first gen rack, the radius isnt different between any of the years, just the amount of turns to get there. 93 does not have a year specific rack in it though so stop blowing smoke up peoples asses.

the rear diff case in my 97 is made out of pure platinum it was 97 only, and only the lsc's , and only the black on black ones, with the production date of 2/97, and only if it came off the assembly line between 11 am and 5 pm. so my 97 is superior to all of them. WOW

Douche. A couple years ago when we were talking about other things on Marks you had linked this page: http://www.mark8.00freehost.com/specsmain.html

At that time (it has since been edited) it showed that the 93 rack had a quicker ratio and thats what I based it on. I see now that they have edited it it makes a little more sense.

Now there must be a change between 97 and 98 because I do know the 98 rack bushings are different.

93 Power Steering Rack & Pinon; 2.5 Turns. No others mention this, only the 93 and when shopping for one, the 93 is kinda off to itself. Just saying what I'm seeing. This is like the drive shaft. Why was the 93 solid and 94 & up two piece?

I know the 93 rack will fit the 94, 95, 96, 97 and I have heard someone say it fits 98's also but then again, I ended up with a 93 because it wouldn't fit on a 98...

I could care less really lol. They do list a completely different part number for the 93 than the others. Looking at the turning radius, it's identical in all years. 18.6 ' turning radius for the 98

ok never mind then, that is just what i heard, glad that got cleared up, also thanks for the link laser, very helpful with other things

bill you seriously need to put the bong down because never once have i ever seen that page that the link goes to, and never once in all my years messing with these cars did i ever read, or talk about the the racks in the 93, you got the wrong guy there spicoli. i do know there is a difference from 93-96 racks compared to 97 and 98, thats all. so before you go linking things that you said i posted get the right guy , douche. i have never been a part of any discussion on the racks for our cars.

Meh, someone else says it, you say it, I say it, I dont care. Cant hear over the other voices in my head.
