LJ has no balls and would NEVER meet up with anyone from LVC because he knows his face would get bashed in by them. I would be the first in line to knock that pansy out.

well that sucks rollin...but if anyone wants to stock you then its gonna heppen no matter if your on here or not. As long as your on the internet than anyone can get any kind of info they want on you & realy you dont even have to be on the internet either. You can pay for most information, its all out their.
 
Damn, that's a real shame. How big of a p.o.s. does someone have to be to bring man's family into play on a car forum. Some people are alive only because it's against the law to kill them. Hopefully he will forget that he isn't sitting in front of his computer and run his mouth to the wrong person on the wrong day, face to face and that will be the end of it.

Do you even know what a DoS attack is? It has nothing to do with his HD.

You said you're 18. Maybe you like computers. Go get a degree in CS/CIS or something equivalent, learn to program in multiple languages and then come back please
 
Rollin never said it was LVC's fault - just that he wasn't going to participate on a Net forum where his family was being stalked or threatened.

Others have provided their opinions, and they span the range of not worrying about it to the other side of channeling the spirit of Charles Bronson (realize most younger folk won't recognize that name).

It's just a shame that ANY type of activity on a forum would make a decent member like Rollin feel like they need to leave - for whatever reason that he feels is necessary.

LOL, Bull. I was gonna comment on that as well. While a DoS attack is going to keep your system pretty busy and prevent it from operating normally, it's certainly not going to be frying motherboards, memory or hard drives.

While it is possible, a BIOS level intrusion is some pretty deep stuff that is only going to happen with someone who really knows what they are doing. I don't see that happening over something like this. It would be more likely for a malicious virus to damage or wipe data from the drive than to specifically go after hardware by changing overclocking parameters or stopping fans.

Calabrio - valid question, and you make a good point IMO. I guess it depends on how far the forum member in question wants to go. Certainly more is possible, and I hope that doesn't happen.

I never compared the two let alone have them in the same sentence and yes I know what it is. Well the jist of it, just send a billion packets to someone/something till they lag out so to speak. I'm not trying to prove I'm a hacker I just know more then the average Joe. I can script, build computers etc but that's it really.

Now, then. I'm not getting in the middle of this, but in my humble experience? People that can seriously ruin a remote machine or a whole network... they usually don't brag about it.
 
Ford-Nut, it could also be an "out of sight, out of mind" type of thing. If you see or read things that are directed to you about your family, it certainly could get some type of emotions stirred up - whether it be anger, fear, rage, whatever. Rollin may just not want to see it anymore.

He could put any member name on an ignore list, but I don't know if that blocks PM notifications that are delivered via email. If it does, then there's the hassle of constantly adding new versions of the member's name if they keep joining after getting banned, etc.

I don't know if it would help if the majority of us would collectively agree to put the member in question on an ignore list or not.

Part of me wants to ask the question - "Why does this member feel the need to do this?" Do they really get that much pleasure from bugging someone else like this? Is it really worth it?

now then, why post a "goodbye"? ~shrug~ I don't know. Maybe he wants to let twinkle nuts (I typed that again just for you, ford), to see that he's not going to be around. Maybe he posted so people he knows and wants to be contacted by can PM him to get an alternate way of contacting him. Maybe he posted because he wants the attention. I was worried, that maybe some nerd will stumble across this thread, think LVC is bad and spin those hard drives until the server crashed in a ball of flames. :D
 
So it's LincolnJealous? I knew something was wrong with the guy because of his wack Ls and because he won/cheated that one time on Ls of the month.

Yeah there are a lot of people on the internet that talk a lot of :q:q:q:q but in person they some scared little bitches.
 
Im curious how leaving the forum is going to help/protect anything if he already knows all your personal info?
