Unusual problem please help

Hi Guys. So I have an odd issue all of a sudden with my car. 2006 LS. When I shut the drivers door (normal strength) and the passenger window is all the way up, I can hear something move around sounds like above glove box, close to door panel. If the passenger windows is down, sound goes away. The sound is a brief bouncing around, almost hollow sounding. I thought it was something bouncing around in glove box but that's not the case. Any ideas? I can make a quick video of it as well if that helps.

Part of your fresh-air/recycle doors mechanism has broken. You are hearing the air in the car forcing the fresh-air door open and escaping.

Oh wow, thanks for the fast response guys! Any idea how this could have broken? Age? Where is it exactly, how do I access it, and is it repairable/replaceable? I don't want to hear the noise anymore so I'd like to fix it if possible.

You'll have to get under the dash and figure out which plastic part broke and where. Certainly it is fixable, however you may have to remove the entire dash to do it.

the main dectractor is that your recirc option will not work.

Prior to this did you hear a clicking sound from the same area? My '06 did that for a year or so before Joe identified it as a failing door actuator; similar to the one in your post. It lives right behind the passenger side of the glove box and R&R requires glove box removal. As LS jobs go this is pretty easy; just a bit time consuming (like your Sirius install).

How have you determined that it is the actuator instead of one of the plastic links?
Your failure sounds more like a broken link?
I'd remove the actuator first and make sure that it is or isn't the problem before ordering parts.
