(now the age-old question of what rear to mate with it, if you're replacing the rear too...
I'm leaning toward BILSTEIN 24026628 (since the b6's are way more expensive) -- for the s-type, and hoping they fit heh.

And debating how many of the worn suspension parts (ripped boots) i should replace before i sell the car...

Just to have it noted (in yet another place), I did end up buying the Bilstein 24026628 for the rear, and they appear to work well.
(They are spec'd for the s-type of one year or another, but spring perch and mounting/bolt diameters is correct for the rear of the LS)
