That's the "different boot." The V8 boots don't seal to the plug wells because the V8s have coil covers that should keep the water from getting that far. The V6 doesn't have the covers, so the boots have to seal the water out of the wells. On the V6, some dielectric grease should be applied to the outside of the boots around the sealing ring(s).
