I began hearing a vacuum type sound coming from under the hood. Happens even when the AC is turned off. Anyone know what this is?

My 03 LS V8 does this as well, could it be just the cooling fans? They seem to run all the time with mine, regardless of engine temp

vacuum leaks and cooling fans on high do not sound the same.

if you have a vacuum leak, track down where the sound is coming from and find the leak

He said "vacuum noise"... when the cooling fans are on it can resemble when the wife runs the vacuum at home! :D To me they can sometimes sound unreasonably loud.

On other Ford V8s, the vacuum noise is a common issue... crazy thing is I've fixed it once before, but I can't remember what caused it. Never heard of this issue on an LS before.

There is only one engine fan. Please go back and recount.

Took it down to the shop and the mechanic told me it was the cooling fan not shutting off once the cars reaches a certain temp...He said everything works fine but he does not fix electrical problems. Should I just replace the fan or what other options should I look at

Maybe your fan thinks it's a vacuum, and is trying to clean the engine compartment. :D

Ok, seriously. Read this.
