Alright..I am a college student and got my ls a few months ago and am ready to start spending some of my saved money on some interior products for my ls and i am wanted to start with a nice dvd possible with navigation but i have read about how terrible that is it install. Just wanted to get everyones opinion on what is the best double din dvd player out there for my money. I know that i am probably going to get many disagreements and i dont want any arguements to start i am just looking for opinions. I have a silver 2000 ls with 68k miles and havent done any aftermarkets yet.
Thanks

id go with the kenwood or the eclipse unit. do a search up top for dvd. or navi and youll find some of the units

I've researched the Eclipse AVN2454 and the Pioneer AVIC-D1. I personally found that I would buy the AVN. All around it seems to be the better unit. Thing for me is I can get the D1 for $800, and I can't get the AVN for a price anywhere near that. If I didn't have the large difference in price I'd definatly go for the AVN. Several members here have the unit and can answer any specific questions you may have. Also what college you at? I'm at the University of Maryland.

Is there any way you could get me the D1 for 800 or is that just special for you. I attend Southern Illinois University.

I see the D1 between 800 and a grand all the time. The D1 offers some things others don't...such as XM NavTraffic which is really cool! It also has some very high praise with it's graphics and navigation. It has a couple of quirky things that need to be bypassed, but the "hack" is very simple and well documented here and other places. For the price, I would venture it's the best unit you can buy for what you get.

Pioneer is coming out with a avic z1 this year that has nav, bluetooth etc, etc, etc and its double din (most of the pics you see of 'it' is an older model
