Waiting Room

:( why teeeeeeeeeeease????

Any mods to the new motor? Or just need it to run, looks like a pretty clean truck

It's a GM crate engine, PN 19165628 - Chevrolet Performance Parts LS 5.3L 327CID Crate Engine - 327 HP / 347 Ft Lbs. It's a basic 5.3L engine with a few performance upgrades and a slightly hotter cam than the factory cam. It also has long tube headers and a free flowing exhaust from the previous engine. It also has a 2007 Silverado GMT800 electric fan and radiator which helps keep load off the engine. Without dynoing it, and I don't know if I can since I have an autotrac truck which requires a 4 wheel dyno, I'm estimating 350HP and 375TQ due to the tune and exhaust. I dumped a 2004 LS6 Corvette tune into it and so far it seems pretty happy with it although it will need some fine tuning still yet. I need to put a couple hundred more miles on it before I'll know just how well it'll run. Next spring it will be well broken in, and I'll be taking it by the local drag strip to get quarter times. After my house is up I also plan to install a TrailBlazer SS intake with an oversized throttle body, which is supposed to boost upper RPM performance without affecting low end performance. After that I'm done with it, and will go find a project to play with.

Two words. Ken Block. For those of you who do not know him, he's the best at his art.
Rally driver. I chose this video (he's done many of them, search on You Tube under his
name, you will see) since it's with an 845hp all wheel drive Mustang. Be sure to have plenty
of sound. It'll send chills down your spine...:headbang:

I finally found a way to get track power (and dump the stupid 9V battery set-up) to light the passenger cars on my 'round the Christmas Tree train. I got rid of my Bachmann locomotive and upgraded to an LGB loco w/tender. There is a reason the LGB locomotive is quite pricey; it is much, much heavier and is very quiet. I still use the Bachmann passenger cars and upgraded the wheels to metal. Now all I hear is the clickity-clack of the wheels hitting the rail joints. I will have pics once my battery recharges......... Good thing I found out now and not Christmas morning!!!!! I would have really been in deep kimchi!!!!!

I really wanted to go outdoors with this train but the track will be in excess of $1500!!!!!

LGB is great, my brother is into the larger gauges.

I have N and z scale, my z scale is a Märklin and the n scale are various.

LGB using all brass track is very nice.

So you don't think I'm running a Corolla around the tree....... My daughter made the snowman in her ceramics class....

Ran across all these mirrows for sale. If anyone needs a mirrow. You can get a mirrow replacement. Mirrows. All day mirrows. LOL Geesh. I just can't trust someone selling car parts that doesn't know how to actually spell. HAHAHA

So like... you can swap mirrors across generations, right?
>>>looks like the connector fits, but the puddle lamp and defroster need some rewiring, as the Gen 1 doesn't have wires for them http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/fo...ing-mirrors-on-Gen-1&highlight=folding+mirror

And what app is that?

It's ebay. You do realize I'm just making fun of the seller for misspelling mirrors, right? :)

Haha yeah, I just didn't recognize the page setup, and having "kentucky+parts" threw me off. My results brought nothing like that... zero for mirrow. Found a silver folding for $53 including shipping, though, which gave way to my rushed "does it fit" post. I'm gonna hold off on it though... I need to finish my other projects first :/

Yes. I have also been bit by the "I want that. I can do this. This mod is baller. Add that to the list" bug. I want it all. LOL

Canadian passport renewal complaint

Dear Sirs,
I'm in the process of renewing my passport, and still cannot believe this. How is it that Bell-Alliant has my address and telephone number and knows that I bought a friggin satellite dish from them back in 1977, and yet, the Canadian Government is still asking me where I was friggin born and on what date.

For Christ sakes, do you guys do this by hand? My birth date you have on my pension checks, and it is on all the income tax forms I've filed
for the past 30 years. It is on my Health card, my driving license, my car insurance, on the last eight damn passports I've had, on all those stupid customs declaration forms I've had to fill out before being allowed off the plane over the last 30 years, and all those insufferable census forms.

Would somebody please take note, once and for all, that my mother's name is Mary Anne, my father's name is Robert and I'd be abso-*******-lutely astounded if that ever changed between now and when I die!!!!!!

I apologise, I'm really pissed off this morning. Between you an' me, I've had enough of this bull****! You send the application to my house,
then you ask me for my ******* address!!!!

What is going on? Do you have a gang of Neanderthal arseholes workin' there? Look at my damn picture. Do I look like Bin Laden? I don't want to dig up Yasser Arafat, for crap sakes. I just want to go and park my arse on some sandy beach somewhere. And would someone please tell me, why would you give a crap whether I plan on visiting a farm in the next 15 days? If I ever got the urge to do something weird to a chicken or a goat, believe you me, you'd be the last ******* people I'd want to tell!

Well, I have to go now, 'cause I have to go to the other end of the friggin city to get another ******* copy of my birth certificate, to the tune of $35. Would it be so complicated to have all the services in the same spot to assist in the issuance of a new passport the same day??
Nooooooooooooo, that'd be too damn easy and maybe make sense. You'd rather have us running all over the ******' place like chickens with our heads cut off, then have to find some arsehole to confirm that it's really me on the damn picture - you know, the one where we're not allowed to smile?! (bureaucratic ******' morons) Hey, do you know why we couldn't smile if we wanted to? Because we're totally pissed off!

Signed
An Irate Canadian Citizen.

Hey does anyone kno if there are any of the chin lip spoilers (like the mach 1 used for first gen) for the 2nd gen ls? looking for a clean stock look

@BigRigLS

Thanks for posting that rant. I literally laughed out loud, although there was no rolling on the floor involved.

It seems people either know everything you've ever done when there's no need to, or you have to give them the same information five times on five different forms. There's no happy medium where they know what they need to do their job efficiently and nothing more.

I'm going to guess you can sandwich the Mach spoiler between the bumper and the splash shield the way I did it (Gen 1), but A.) I can't guarantee that and B.) the sloped piece at the wheel will probably protrude past the spoiler.
