I have big races coming up soon and need to get Red Dragon going. GTO boy just put Speed Tech plate kit on his car and pulled 506HP and my buddies 2007 Mustang that I built him just pulled 510hp, both at wheels. I'm hoping I can 60ft both of them and leg them out. I did sell my old slick/rims to mustang guy and GTO boy is looking for some now so I won't have the huge 60ft gap I used to have.
I hate to tear into a brandnewish trans but gotta do it. This is a 1998 Crown vic trans with 36K.
I always wanted a trans holding fixture but don't want to pay the 250-300 for a good used one. Hit the stock racks and started at it. The trans has lugs on side for the holder to fit into. Had to figure out the taper and then put that on these.
Frame cut machined drilled (had to cut off nut I welded on here )
Here is mount plate I drilled bolt pattern in it and also did same pattern on my engine stand head so I can bolt them together
Welding it all up. You can see the tube that I threaded 3/4-10 on right side. This takes the jack screw to clamp trans.
All welded and primed with the swivel shoe that braces trans tight installed.
All painted and put to work. Love being able to rotate trans any way to work on it and not get covered in trans fluid.
