Was A Tuff Day.

Ken..I think the other guys have the 2003 V8 LS..whereas you had/I have the 2002. So their HP ratings are closer, if not the same as..the G35. From a dead stop, I got the lower weight of the G35 beating any LS in acceleration. But from a rolling race starting at 60 or 70mph...the torque of the 2003+ V8 might allow the LS to hang in there, if not slightly pull away, depending on the G35''s drivers ability to make quick, precise, perfect 3-4, 4-5, and 5-6 shifts.

I like my car alot but it will not hold up against these cars get over it. It has more horse power as the first gens, but it don't way as much as either the first gen or the second gen LS. Even at a rolling start the car will have to much initial pull to actually get any gain on it at all.

The g sedan are a little faster than the coupe. I researched a lot before ending up with a fx35. it goes 350z-g35 sedan-g35 coupe. Cant tell you why the sedan is faster but found it on numerous sites. i was skeptical too.

Maybe because it is the AWD model of the sedan?

G35 coupe...black...had some fancy spoiler and ground effects, looked nice. As all three of us sort of come together in the middle lane i broke left and the G35 broke right. I had my sunroof open and i could hear the G35 hammer it WOT. I obliged to satisify my own needs and floored the LS. I ran that G35 all the way from 70 to 135 mph down a straight part of the highway and slowly was creeping away from him the whole time.

From the pic in your post, it appears you have the 2003+ V8 with 280hp and 286lb/ft of torque. (stock..not sure if you have mods). Curb weight is listed at 3772.

Assuming it was an early G35 Coupe, it had 280hp and around 260 lb/ft of torque. Curb weight listed at 3416.

Again..many factors. Were you the only person in your car? Did he have one passenger? Two? (weight). Was he shifting precisely at the right shift points? Did both of you nail the accelerator from 70mph at the same time, or did you perhaps get a slight jump? And depending on the torque band comparison of both...

Either way, definitely possible.

Congrats on a nice run!
