Hi everyone.

My first post here--want to thank everyone for a nice site on Lincolns and LS's in particular.

I am used the the motorcycle and SVT Cobra worlds where lots of information is available due to the large number of gearhead enthusiasts buying these vehicles so find that there was some useful place for LS info was heartening.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem like the following:

--LS sits out in rain or goes through car wash
--water collects in headliner and drains out on driver's seat when coming to stop or taking corner
--drains out of headliner through sunvisor stem/rod mount

Any and all help on causes and fixes appreciated so I can be informed when taking to dealer.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

sounds like one of the drain tubes for the sunroof track has come off, its kinda common problem, either that or one of them is clogged.

If you are still under warranty (wich you should be) take a trip to the dealer and they will be able to fix it. There are a couple service messges on this condition across the lincoln line up.

From one LS and Terminator owner to another...WELCOME!!!

I think this is an easy one to determine...but may be miserable to find. You have a leak. (DUH!) I'm guessing it's somewhere around the windshield. Or, do you have any type of antenna mounted on the roof? How about a moon roof? If you have a moonroof, I would consider that the most likely suspect. They have channels and drains in them. You should check to see that none of them are plugged. If nothing else, you can pull the headliner out of the car (yuk) and take it to the car wash or hit it with a hose and see where the water comes in.

Had the same problem with my '03 LS. Took to dealer and they unclogged the sunroof drains. Haven't seen it since.

Thanks!

It was the moonroof--drain line had come disconnected.

Is there a permanent solution to this or will it disconnect again?

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Mike

Astro,

Thanks for posting the fix for your problem -- I was curious how it would work out. I'm glad it was resolved fairly easily.

I would think that securely attaching the drain line, using glue or a hose clamp, should permanently fix your problem. Do you know if this was done?
