So the engine on my 2000 LS V8 Sport has rod knock now. Great. So it's parked, and I'm not about to drop the $1500 on a new motor plus the labor to do it myself. Or the whatever it'd cost for a rebuild kit...
So, what's this thing sell for you think? It's got about 130k on it, and basically everything's been fixed on it, here's a list:
Things fixed since I got it:
Snow tires on the stock rims, with tons of life left
Summer tires (great tires) on aftermarket rims, with tons of life left
Valve cover gaskets
Both front wheel bearings
Drivers side front upper control arm
Have a new airbag clockspring (just haven't put it in yet)
All new slotted brake rotors with new ceramic pads
And, get this... It's got a laser jammer installed on it that jams cops laser (although does nothing for radar). It's friggin' sweet. And no, it's not one of those gimmick things, cop laser is easy to jam, this should get you to within about 300 feet of the cop, which is less than 3 seconds away on the highway. If you haven't seen him by then, you're stupid or blind or both. For this, I'd probably want a couple hundred more, cause I could unwire the whole thing and put it on my next car.
I don't even know what else it's got on it, but there's a ton of crap I've fixed.
It could be a stinkin' gold mine for someone who's got the time and gumption to tear down the motor and rebuild it, but I'm just not that person. I've dealt with Ford enough, I'm moving back to foreign vehicles (I've owned Honda/Acura my whole life, and also 12 RX-7's)...
