What did Lincoln do right with the LS? Excellent design traits:

How reliable they are. In conjunction with the 5k mile recommended maintenance schedule, it's always guaranteed that a FoMoCo technician will sniff out all those pesky issues with the ample opportunities.

Provided the tech knows the car. Unfortunately, newer techs rarely see the DEW98s. I've got it lucky. I work at a Ford dealer and one of the techs started at a Lincoln dealer and knows his stuff. He's a nice guy, too. He let's me snoop around the car while its on the lift and gives me more information on issues, repairs, and tips for working on it myself. Some other techs either don't know the car well or can't be bothered to go into details.

I just like how my '06 LS still gets people thinking it's a newer car then it is. The interior isn't bad but it's probably the most dated part about the car as far as looks. It's when someone starts looking into the windows that they go "Ohh, this is an old car". The rest of the car seems to be holding it's own quite well in my experience.

But for a laundry list it's as follows:
1) Handling, by far my biggest like of this care
2) Styling, which from the outside it really holding itself quite well all things considered
3) Good performance for a small V8 engine with decent MPG, but also it's biggest negative IMHO

I'm still going to slap the STR engine in mine one day along with that 8.8" conversion out back to take care of that last time. :)
