What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

i agree on what yr saying on the headlights. like everything else with this car cant find it and if u do sell the house to buy it. some people would give up,but i like the challenge.
 
I got the 5gal air tank with my two compressors hooked up. Only one comp though is connected. Its for my air horns. Woo-woo!

Also tested my other neon and ballast. Also shot. In going to a huge huge show in Biloxi, MS on Oct 6-14. I'll be there the 6-7 and again the 11-14. I'd like to have my neon working since its such a great part of the car.
 
had a kid walk up to me n tell me it was against the law to have the cobra on it couse its not a cobra and his dad said if the cops see it they will arrest me. the kid was like 7 or 8 i tried so hard not to laugh then bit my toung couse he just wouldnt let it go. looking back i feel sorry 4 this kid couse his dad has no clue so this litle guy dont stand a chance.

So.. these don't turn an 18 Wheeler into a potential 3-some... how misleading

what kind of compressors u running. i have 3 viar 480 in mine but still factory lines so from the ground all the way up it takes about 2 min.also have a 5 gal, tank.

Damn that long, seems like my stock system will do that from bottomed to ride height :confused:

Also seems that the boots on the UCA's disappeared and it's starting to make sounds like the joints are dry. Anybody ever drill the tops for grease fittings to get grease in them?
 
Started getting it ready for winter.

Oil change
Cleaned the maf
Checked fluids
Lubed the front end
Check the cops, 0 oil in the holes now so I'm happy about that
Lubed door hinges and latches


All thats left are a couple tires and to lube the door seals. :)
 
I opened the trunk one mine.... threw a part in it. And shut it. Most I've done to it in months. Lol

Yeah. That seems to happen. Put a set of UCA's on my mom's '97 Cougar a couple of years ago and they're gone now:confused: The boot on my P/S UCA is gone too. But I'm ordering one off fleabay:

Lifetime warranty on the TRW's I got from Advance, and I can change them out if the boots ever tear, or anything else fails on them.

I don't think they carry TRW'S anymore, but I'll at least get however much I paid for them toward some moog's or something, if the time ever comes

I did a Google search and found one place that had one Energy Suspension boot in stock. Looked at SCP but wasn't finding em on the web page so figured I would see who got what where on LvC?

Arms are what came on my new used 58k original LSC. So they should have been originals. I got a set from AutoZone on my other LSC and one was MOOG with the other being Duralast. MOOG one cracked the boot and is non greasable but Duralast has zerk fitting plus boot is still good. Plus they both came with 3 month warranties I think that have passed :(
 
drovr it to gallipolice yesterday. almost totaled it having fun but dumb..Nothing yet today but may go play around with something on it.... maybe ill try modding a set of gen 1 headlight...tape some led flashlights inside houssing it would have to be brighter than the lights r now lol..

Do you own a cordless drill? Or even an air drill.. I use an air drill ... but a fresh battery in a power drill is fine..
What ya do is ..
Find an old spray bottle (Windex almost empty? Perfect!)
Get some 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper from any auto store, and a sanding sponge (an old flip flop works too, just cut it into a square). The sponge will remove the initial pressures of your finger tips from leaving gouges. Then soak the paper in a sink for a couple minutes. Wash the headlights with soapy water to remove any bugs and road grime. Then wrap your paper around sponge and sand.. keep it wet, even holding the garden hose over it is fine, you'll want to wash away all the debris anyway. Once you've sanded the entire lenses smooth switch to the 2000 grit and continue. Once youce sanded enough it'll be quite evident because they film will be a whitish color and not so.much yellow like when you started.
Then with the drill, attach a 3" buffing pad. Depending on how bad the lenses are, you can start with a medium compound and buff until clear, then finish with a wax

If your chrome inside is gone... that can be replaced too.

There's a huge,HUGE show in Biloxi im going to in two weeks and both my ballasts are not working. Its a 8 day show and id like to have my neon working. Or does anyone have one for sale on the cheap?

isaiah, look on Ebay i saw several ballasts on Ebay while i was looking for parts Sunday.

So I get voted to drive to lunch. As soon as I pull out of the parking spot my brother mentions how nasty my Mark's front end sounds :shifty:

I gotta borrow his 90 degree cordless drill so I can drill the tops of the UCA's and put some grease fittings in em. Seeing as I am getting laid off Thursday it should give me the spare time to do it :rolleyes:
 
cleaned my lenses once outside looks ok but the inside is bad..the deflectors r rusted out so killed the indide of lens. need to open up n do the inside.
