there is an aluminium sheiled between the exhaust and the underbelly of the car.. can someone tell me the correct term for this peice is? thank you

not my car but the only pic I can find with the aluminuim casing that protects the rest of the car from the exhaust .. does anyone know what its called? mine is hanging and need a new one

So, you do really mean the sheet above the exhaust and not the one that doesn't exist under it...

It's called "heat shield."
