I have a 97 conti andthe only things done stereo wise is a pioneer headunit, and I upgraded my cd changer to a pioneer unit which I control via the headunit. My Factory amp was blown before I changed my headunit. I want to buy a new one but i'm not sure as to the specs i'd need anyone help?

that depends if u changed the speakers or not? might as well.. if u want the best bang for ur buck i would get pioneer speakers to match everything and 2-300 watt amp.. maybe 4-500 watts if u decide to get a crankin system with bass and so forth.. but if u want to keep ur factory speakers.. u technically DONT need to get an amp..

if u changed ur stock radio to an aftermarket.. it comes with pre=outs.. lookin at the pic on ur sig I would figure that to be a DEH model pioneer.. which i believe give a minimum of 45watts per channel.. per speaker.. thats enough to push the stocks..

hope i was of some help..

Ya it's a Pioneer DEH, dude at the shop told me i'd need a multi amp, I was thinking of changing the speakers but I dont' think i'd put subs in the trunk

I was thinking a pioneer amp watcha think?

why not.. u can get a pioneer amp.. and matching pioneer 4 way speakers.. real clear and crisp.. technically.. u wouldnt NEED that amp.. u can go str8 from the radio to the speakers.. but it will sound much better.. with the radio.. u would only use about 1/5 of the potential on the speakers.. its on u.. do u like loud.. the pioneer 4ways or better also give a nice mid bass sound so it wouldnt ONLY be highs.. pioneer is relatively cheap compared to kicker and etc.. i would say go with pioneer amp and speakers.. then u would NEVER touch ur system again.. it would sound real nice.. ur look about about 300 maybe.. 100 on the amp.. and 100 for 2 speakers.. but u got 4.. so its about there.. i would do it..

I couldn't find any pioneer 4 ways all I could find are 2-3 way speakers. what pioneer speakers would you recommend. Maybe something like the Pioneer TS-A1671R?

Don't waste your time making sure you get a Pioneer amp and speakers. They don't need to match. And the Pioneer 4-ways usually don't sound that good. If you want it to sound better look for some 2-way components up front and just anything will do ok for the rears.

And that head unit is probably putting out around 13-15 watts per channel.

Alright im sry but everyone that has replied to this post has no idea what your talkn bout when it comes to car audio alright first thing you want to do is to check the wattage of each speaker , then you can get matching speakers if you want you don't have to but if you put that kind of speaker in that door you do have to have the same kind for the other side some good companies are pioneer , alpine , boust coustic and some others you can find that out though all speakers sound diffrent and it depends of specifically what you want them for to ? but you do not need to match thats bull SxHiT talk haha sry but it is but as far as amp figure out the wattage of all of it 2 gether first they do make small seperate amps to for the door speakers and 6x9's as well i would suggest checking in to them to

^^^
nobody ever said the speakers had to match.. he said he would like them to match... i stated pioneer would be good way to go cause its a cheap/good brand..

it helps to read everything before u make a comment..

i already told him he didnt NEED an amp..

"if you put that kind of speaker in that door you do have to have the same kind for the other side some good companies are pioneer , alpine , boust coustic and some others you can find that out though all speakers sound diffrent and it depends of specifically what you want them for to ? "

it also helps to make sense when u say something.. i mean it doesnt hurt.. but its obvious if he gets pioneer speakers.. he will get pioneer speakers all the way around..

the best way to go is obviously to get component sets.. but they are more expensive and i dont think he was too much into audio.. plus the instal would require u to flush mount the tweeter and i dont think he wanted to go too in depth with the system.. plus.. he said he isnt puttin subs.. so he doesnt REALLY need it..

as far as the 3ways are concerned.. i like em.. i had em in my old car and they sounded great..

this page is being used for opinons and so forth.. my opinion? see if u can bypass the amp and connect the speakers directly to ur radio.. u may like how it sounds and u wont have to spend money on a new amp...

u can always buy the amp later and install it..

as far as speakers are concerned? i dont think pioneer makes components that size.. but u dont NEED to get components by pioneer.. my personal favorite component sets are Boston acoustic and mb quart.. but the real good sets go for about 500 a pair.. they have a cheaper line for about 150 i believe..

take this info and ask at a local car shop.. atleast u have an idea of wher eu want to go with YOUR car and what u want to do.. u know ur options and know what ur talkin about..

WTF? I don't believe I said anything that was untrue, unless you just don't agree with my opinion on the Pioneer 4-ways. My comment on the HU was that the 45 watts is peak, most HU's are 13-15 RMS.

That is the speakers don't need to be the same brand as the amps and or HU, moron. I assumed anybody would be smart enough to figure out that nobody would put an Alpine in one door, a CDT in another, and an MB Quart someplace else, but I guess you proved my assumption to be incorrect.
